Blue Confusion Wrote:Finally finished NANA, so picked up Zombie Loan and Doujin Work in its stead. Zombie Loan's kinda trashy, in its own entertaining way, and Doujin Work is just hilarious. Gotta love the opening theme. I've been watching both. Zombie Loan isn't that great. So, I've fallen behind, but Doujin Work great. Here's one of the funniest conversations I ever heard in an anime.
Najimi: By the way, you look like you didn't sleep last night.
Tsuyuri: Is that so? Well, I pulled an all-nighter...
Najimi: Eh? What were you doing?
Tsuyuri: Actually...
Najimi: Hm-hmm...perhaps...you were doing...inappropriate things...?
Tsuyuri: Yes...I guess it really was...inappropriate.
Najimi: Wait...r-really? I-I see...all-nighter eh? Since when did you find someone to...
Tsuyuri: Eh? I was doing it by myself...
Najimi: By yourself!? The entire night??
Tsuyuri: If you're interested, would you like to assist me next time?
Najima: ASSIST!?
Train announcer: Yurigaoka...this is Yurigaoka.
Najima: DAMMIT, we're not Yuri!

You're under arrest..... again..... oh and I downloading a fan sub of series 2.....

@ Eva: Zombie Loan is so incredibly, incredibly bad that it's come full circle and I now find it great for unwinding with when I'm too tired to think straight. The creators seem to be trying to sow the seeds for Chika/Michiru, but I agree with my friends that Chika/Shito would be far more entertaining. Yomi's penchant for molesting Michiru made me wonder, what would it be like to fall for one personality of an MPD sufferer? If the creators do follow their suggested pairing, that'll be hilarious because I won't buy a second of it.
I am just watching it for the mockery value.
And that Doujin Works conversation is a great way to open a series Along with Sora's remark "I wish I was older, so I could join you [in the hentai comic book store]" and almost any conversation with Justice and Najimi XD
Just because it's in the thesaurus doesn't mean it's a good idea.
And why isn't 'dethesaurisation' in the dictionary?

Well I've picked up on Gurren Lagann, I'm only on episode 2 but the series is on 20+ I believe so at least I'll have something I can watch for a while without waiting for a new episode. Its pretty interesting so far but I'm hoping it will pick up a little more the further I get in to it.

Watching a series called The Gargoyle of the Yoshinagas. Its 13 episodes and quite good. The animation is 'cute' and almost put me off it as more of a kids show, but the stories are mature and deal with adult issues, though it has its share of humour as well. Worth a look.
Heres a bit of a review:

Well I went to my school's anime club meeting today and we started watching Black Lagoon, 08th MS Team, and Haruhi. We also watched Lain and Vandread but I don't think we're going to watch the full seasons of those, they were just a time killer till next time when we vote on what to watch.
Gundam was OK, the 1995-cheesiness definitely didn't help, but I liked Black Lagoon a lot and obviously Haruhi. The only thing that pissed me off was that we watched the dub of Haruhi even after I told the president how horrible it was. And we didn't watch episode 00, he said people wouldn't get it. But then we watched Vandread and he said the first episode didn't have anything to do with the series. Way to be consistent. I didn't like Lain, way too weird, and I can't really say for Vandread yet.

Lain was weird but I thought it was pretty decent. I'd give it a 6/10 on the Analog anime scale.
@Flynt, you'll probably enjoy Kiddy Grade. I know I did (and I waited freakin' forever to finally watch it!!!). Now if I could just figure out what's going on with KG season 2... @_@
@MCC2040 --> Yep, Bleach rules (at least until the fillers anyway) XD
I'm in the middle of Godanner right now. Plenty o' Fanservice so far, but we'll see if the story starts to bounce as much as the other 'assets' of the series have thus far.

Eyeshield 21, a sort of secret identity football anime, once again joins my list of strange "yet to be licensed" anime straight out of Japan. The original story follows a young boy by the name of Sena Kobayakawa. Sena is spending his first year in high school, and his small frame and quickness and agility has made him a prime candidate for the school's running back position. Scouted by team lead Yoichi Hiruma, Sena becomes an instant phenom, and an amazing secret weapon for his school team, the Deimon Devil Bats. In order to protect his identity from competing high school teams, Sena is given the "auspicious" role of being team secretary during school and practice sessions. When it's game time though, he hits the field in superhero fashion, flaunting a decked out football helmet with a green-tinted Eyeshield to hide his face. Basically, he's the Batman/Super Man/Spider-Man/Wonder Women of Japanese football. Nice.

@Analogue...Yeah I watched the first 3 eps the other night and it was pretty decent, think I am going to like it.
@MCC2040...Bleach is great and the filler eps aren't bad. I dunno why but people either liked or hated the fillers, no inbetween opinions. I liked them.
Watched the new Bleach movie 'Memories of Nobody' earlier this week as well. Very good. Only thing i found that let it down a bit was the animation was a little odd sometimes. Considering it is a full length movie I was expecting OVA quality. But it doesn't quite reach that height.
It can be overlooked though, cause the story makes up for it. Good plot, very enjoyable, Ichigo has some interesting character development. Well worth watching.
16 September 2007, 4:10 AM
Also saw the Memories of Nobody yesterday, and wow. Plenty of plot for me, fights and pretty effects for my plot-hating friends. Loved the final showdown in the Valley It's not an indescribably awesome, instant classic, but it's a nice enough film.
And Mai Otome Zwei... the final episode had me in stitches. Especially the "Ninnnaaaaa-chaaaaan!" *POW!* Fumi pwns 'em both out of the air. I've always wanted to do that in the "two characters leap towards each other arms outstretched yelling each other's name" moments of anime.
Just because it's in the thesaurus doesn't mean it's a good idea.
And why isn't 'dethesaurisation' in the dictionary?
16 September 2007, 10:59 AM
@Blue---> Zwei was good, they packed a lot into just 4 episodes. You should have a read of the Mai Otome manga. The story is totally different from the anime, as are some of the character personalities and its got some really dark moments in it.
17 September 2007, 8:59 AM
OK so we watched more today. RahXephon, DNAngel, Noir, Azumanga Daioh, and Paradise Kiss. Then we voted for what to watch out of all we watched last week and this week. No Haruhi because the last dvd won't be out in time. But I got 3 of the 4 I voted for to watch during the semester: RahXephon, Paradise Kiss, and Black Lagoon, and then also Noir.
Also I'm almost caught up to where they are on Gurren Lagann, its pretty kickass at this point.
25 September 2007, 2:57 AM
I watched a few eps of Cowboy Bebop at a friend's the other day. "Hard Luck Women" is one of my all-time favs and I always get teary-eyed at the end when they play Call Me Call Me...
