You completely missed the fact that Kira was not present for nearly half the series? Reappears, bump Kira and Athrun out of the star roles, then imposes his will on all who oppose he's view. He's pilots the unbeatable Gundam that destroys all. The only true struggle Kira faced was Shin's battle, he ended up running away, coming back with a stronger Gundam and destroying Shin. I liked how the series was progressing until Kira was injected back into the series.

It's not my own personal view since I found people that agree that's what happen. Kira wasn't present for nearly half of the series, he reappears of all sudden and becomes the main character once again. I forgot to mention that Kira's character became empty. In a sense, he wasn't that emotional. Not happy, not sad, not angry. Kira was stoic, along with Lucas. Kira showed emotion in the original SEED series, but he became a stoic during DESTINY. I thought the anime was going to focus on Athrun and Shin, at least that's what the first 20-30 episodes lead you to believe before Kira reappeared and destroyed Athrun's Gundam with little effort.

I'm watching Midori No Hibi now on a friend's recommendation. Pretty entertaining, and a lot different than I had expected it to be.

I'll probably start Serial Experiments Lain next, on the same friend's suggestion.

Currently watching Cardcaptor Sakura, and enjoying it a lot. It's a shame that I've had this show for as long as I have, but I'm only now watching it. Now I have to track down the movies... which are unfortunately out of print since Geneon went bust. High prices make FirestarterCL sad.

At least I've got an awesome show to bring me out of my anime watching slump. I haven't felt like sitting down and watching a show for a while.

Also watching Naruto Shippuuden... yeah, I know.

For a long series One Piece is probibly better XP

It takes some time before the series picks up. The Gundam will be nearly unbeatable until the middle of the series. That's when the series becomes quite entertaining. Another season on the way this fall, if I'm not mistaken. Oh, characters die and stay dead in this series unlike SEED, which had a difficult time letting one popular character die. Oh wait, a popular character never died.
