Well, I was looking around for a good 3d picture of a girl on a bike, and somehow this popped up. This guy says he's been working on a 3d version of bubblegum crisis (as of mid 2005). It's probably been forgotten, but the 3d render looked pretty good.

It kinda of took me back to when I first saw the music video for burning highway, when they used live action mixed with the animation. All in all I don't think it would be too bad an idea.

Yep, happened to discover this earlier this year and made a thread about it here. I haven't checked back on his website yet to see if there's any updates on his 3D work of Bubblegum Crisis but I gotta say I was amazed with it the first time I saw it.
