The posability for both the figures and the motoroids look good, along with the paintjobs on the hardsuits. The motoroids still look a bit cheesy and plasticky, however.

Woot, those do look nice, especailly transformed into robot mode.

I totally agree with the plasticky comment. Although, wouldn't a coat of paint fix that? (Done right of course, maybe if the model can be disassembled and the colored parts painted separately.)

Either way those look pretty nice.

My only problem with that is that they are pretty pricey to begin with- I'd like to see them get it right from the start.

One trick would be to use some pastels to enhance the shading, then apply a dullcoat over the top to reduce the shininess. That's a bit easier than repainting entirely.

yeah, I'm actually a little surprised at the low-quality appearance of the motoroids compared to the hardsuit-figures.

Still, I'd almost just get it for the hardsuits alone.

Well, I admittedly don't keep up with the latest anime toys. So if there's hardsuit figures of equal or greater quality, but standalone, yes, I'd get those instead, though I may pick up the Priss one since I should have at least one motoroid. I can always repaint it.

There were these other hardsuit figures that were made by another company a few years back which are entirely superior to these ones in every way.

If you re-paint the motoroids, you'd want to be pretty careful- masking, and partial dis-assembly would help. I build and paint models, and I use a double-action airbrush (a nice Badger 100 Gravity feed) with a fine needle, which would be up to the job. It's not too expensive, either- under $100 for the airbrush, $10 or so for the tubing and connects, and about $80 for a 2 gallon air compressor (Canadian prices).

I'm aware, to quote wbd, I build and paint models as a hobby, though I don't use the same tools. Best bet to keep the paint on would be to sand it lightly.

BGC OVA is mid to late 80s... and if you don't like the faces, don't put them on XD

Plus, I'm not a fan of the look of the 2040 BGC characters... they're generic... in more ways than one XD

There were a few 2040 garage kits, but as they were garage kits, very few were made, and are difficult to find.

Personally, I'm pretty happy that anything new and bubblegum is being produced.
