If you re-paint the motoroids, you'd want to be pretty careful- masking, and partial dis-assembly would help. I build and paint models, and I use a double-action airbrush (a nice Badger 100 Gravity feed) with a fine needle, which would be up to the job. It's not too expensive, either- under $100 for the airbrush, $10 or so for the tubing and connects, and about $80 for a 2 gallon air compressor (Canadian prices).
