Below is my latest acquisition of things from the Scramble Wars OVA



Yes the LD format be long gone but seeing an auction for this going for a very cheap price, I decided to bid on it for the sake of collecting anything other than the VHS of Scramble Wars. I got it for 320 yen too which is pretty cheap when the total estimate price for it including all the shipping and deputy service fees would come up to around $23US. I had thought my family had given away our LD player years ago but I was surprised we still had it lol, it's just been in storage for nearly 10 years now XD.

The only bad thing is that it seems to be having a little problem of not opening up the disc tray for the LD's but can open up the tray for CDV's and normal CD's. I hope I can get it fixed so I can watch Scramble Wars in a better quality than the VHS, but if I can't...then I can always try to watch it at my friend's house who also happens to have a fully working LD player.

Anyway, anyone wanna comment on the anime itself? I personally enjoy this for the sake of seeing Sylia pissing off Priss and going wild.

Those who have never seen Scramble Wars are in luck, it's available for streaming on youtube broken up into 3 parts. Don't know if it's going to be taken down but I highly doubt it since I don't think Animeigo has the license for it anymore.

It finally came in! Yes my Scramble Wars LD has finally arrived after leaving it in storage in the US for over 8 months now lol. I gotta say the quality is quite impressive and much clearer than the VHS release.




Here's two shots that I took from the tv screen (so excuse the quality as you can clearly see the tv scan lines lol), it really looks like it's close to DVD quality if you actually saw it XD.




The LD also came with a folded sheet that had black and white pictures of the majority of characters that appeared in the OVA as well as the vehicles shown in it.

I'm STLL trying to track a copy down. I ordered the VHS 2 years ago and the damn thing got lost in the post ::cries:: Got my money back, but I'd rather have Scramble wars instead!

LOL, it wasn't that rare for me to find personally. Yahoo Japan Auctions is like a goldmine for my anime CD searches and installing the Japanese language onto the PC also came in handy. I remember searching around over 50 pages and varying the search words for Scramble Wars' Doki! Doki! Paradise album before I even knew about Yahoo Japan Auctions. I was lucky to come across a page that had it's english title linked to it's original Japanese title in the search engine on Yahoo Japan Auctions, so all I had to was click it and all these Scramble Wars items popped up XD.

I've managed to get all three Scramble Wars CD's from there and those looking for anything related to Scramble Wars....I'm telling you Yahoo Japan Auctions is your friend, there's an auction currently running for another copy of the Scramble Wars Laserdisc over there. You'll also find the original Japanese VHS releases and the soundtrack for the OVA, its drama CD and Doki! Doki! Paradise vocal album. The only drawback is that A LOT of sellers there don't want to ship internationally.

It appears another user has finally put up Super Deformed Double Feature on youtube again. This time it's been personally ripped from their VHS copy so the quality isn't as pixelated as the previous version.

I still need to get a DVD recorder so I can transfer my laser disc version of Scramble Wars to DVD. It's practically the ONLY laser disc I have at the moment (besides my parents collection of asian karaoke laser discs which I don't watch) so it feels pretty annoying to be using my LD player just for this.
