What if your favorite Bubble Gum Crisis / AD Police Series?
And explain why?
Bubblegum Crisis - The orginal series - 8 Episodes
AD Police Files OVA - Prequal to the orginal BGC Series. - 3 Episodes
Bubble Gum Crash - Sequel to the orginal BGC Series - 3 Episodes
Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040 - Remake Of The Orginal Series. 26 Episodes
AD Police Files TV - Prequal/Spin Off to the orginal BGC2040. 12 Episodes
Parasite Dolls - An AD Police spin off. Not exactly sure where / if this one fits in with either the orginal BGC or BGC 2040 time line.
Above series are listed in the order in which they were released in japan
My favorite was AD POLICE FILES TV SERIES. I will admit that I did not like the animation or boomer(voomer) designs compaired with the other series. However I did like the character development. Especially that episode where you have the squad having a quiet drink in the bar.

Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, because I had seen it before i watched the the original. As fars the AD police goes i can't pick a fave i got them both at the same time and i love them to bits!
It a closes call between Parasite Dolls and The original AD Police OVA, If they had completed all five episodes it would win heads down. The Parasite Dolls stories are good, and the final animation on the last episode is brilliant, But ADP OVA heads down for me....

The only one I watched out of the entire series would be Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, but it was truly a good work of Anime and probably the first real good Anime I've seen back in 2001. Perhaps I might go and get the DVD set for it once I have enough cash to get an Anime DVD box set...
Have a gewd day! Haev a fat and blubbery Walrein to start teh yu0r day!!11
I've yet to watch Parasite Dolls, though it's sitting on my shelf in the limbo betwen watching it and selling it.
I saw 2040 first. loved it. First show where I didnt notice a huge difference between the sub and dub. I saw BCG and Crash later on the Action channel...I didnt really care for either.

If I had to pick one it would be 2040 TV because of the depth of character development, with the BGC OVA coming in a close second.

My personal preference, ranked highest to least:
2040
OVA
ADPolice TV
Parasite Dolls
BGC!
I haven't seen ADPolice OVA
BTW, I did see BGC before 2040 and I still prefer the latter. If the OVA had been finished properly then my opinion might have been different. I felt so frustrated that the series was ended so abruptly. What a disappointment! But it did leave me wanting more, which lead me to the 2040 TV series
I'm glad to see at least one person prefers ADPolice TV. It's not my favorite, but I enjoyed it. The attempted mugging was pretty funny and the end of Strategy (ep 5?) was a very memorable scene for me. I think you're right that its strength was in the character development. The plot was somewhat weak though. There was very little continuity between episodes and they seemed really short. Each episode seemed like a very short OVA. I think they may have had their budget cut too: they used some CGI in the first episode but I don't they I saw any more for the rest of the series. Still, it was definitely worth watching. I also liked how the teasers at the end of every episode ended with "Just how much worse can things get?"
Parasite Dolls had great characters but there just wasn't enough time to develop them and for them to interact with each other. Maybe it would have worked better as a TV series or even a movie.
Speaking of which, I think Parasite Dolls is the way to go as far as the next series. Every other series has had both an OVA and a TV series so why not PD? Maybe a prequel to the OVA.... I can't see any other direction the franchise could safely go.
True, they announced a direct sequel to 2040, dubbed 2041, but even if they do get around to making it they'll have a tough time with it:
1) Fan base has diminished by this time
2) Original voice actors may no longer be available (remember Priss in Crash?)
3) Good sequels are tough to make in general
At least with PD they can reinvent it like they did for the other TV series so most of the above don't apply. Even if they change the voice actors I don't think many people would notice in this case.

I'm currently watching the original Bubblegum Crisis. Outside of that, I've only watch Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 and AD Police TV. If I had to pick, I enjoyed Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 the most. Like I've said many times in the past, I'm aware how flaw Tokyo 2040 is, but it has a special place in my heart, as lame as that sounds, for getting me back into anime and turning me into a huge anime fan again.
In the end, I have to go with 2040. Though, once I finish up the orinigal, I won't be too shocked if it was better all around, but I still would like 2040 the most.
Also, AD Police TV was pretty good on it's own, too. Though, I think I would have liked it to be a little longer. Still, how can you not think Kenji is cool?

Honestly I'd put "Moonlight Rambler/Red Eyes" against just about any other anime series and those two episodes hold up real well. Very well done on many fronts. Overall though, 2040 tells a real good story and from top to bottom outdoes most of the rest of the BGC franchise IMO.

For me it's definitely the original Bubblegum Crisis OVA. It was one of my first anime growing up and I have watched it again countless times over the years. It never gets old for me. Hurricane! is one of my all-time favorite anime songs (along with Mad Machine) and I get excited everytime I hear it juxtaposed with what has to be the best opening sequence to an anime ever: You've got a rogue boomer on the loose tearing up the AD Police, you got Priss and the Replicants rocking out, then you got the other Sabers gathering for battle--all this leading up to a kickass fight scene where they trash that troublesome boomer. So awesome. :P The second episode is just as memorable with Mad Machine playing. They just don't make OVA's like that anymore. Except... maybe Karas. That was an impressive opening.
Anyway, I haven't seen Parasite Dolls or the AD Police Files OVA yet (though I own the latter), but I can't imagine they'll take the place of BGC. Then there's 2040 which, surprisingly, I didn't really like. I was quite disappointed by the character/voomer designs, the color palette, and really the story as a whole. It was way too "out there" for me... I mean Sylia was just a freak, Priss and Leon's flirtatious relationship was awkward and uncomfortable (where in the original it was humorous--as it should be), and the ending bugs me to no end. For me, they really dropped the ball on a remake, but I'm glad so many others liked it. At least in that respect it wasn't an utter failure.
Finally, the ADP TV was a fun little spinoff that I got some kicks from, but I have to agree with ?????????'s assessment. The plot was weak and it did suffer from a low budget. But...

Back at 'cha Lynk.
I was mightily impressed with your posts in the BGC vs 2040 thread. Here I was set to go all out on exactly what I thought of the two and I find that you said everything, and I mean everything, that I could possibly think to say. So much of it though, I had never really thought of so it was nice to find validation of impressions I had watching, but never really identified. *thumbs up*

I would love it. Love, love, love it.
I haven't seen Akira since it was 1980-something; didn't care for it much. So, I can't really say I see the connection to it and Karas. In fact, I rather view them as complete opposites.

I have voted for the BGC-OVA, perhaps because it was the first BGC-thing that I came to see.
I disliked Tokyo 2040 after I had watched the first Videotape with episodes 1&2 cause the first episodes really suck and I was shocked about the changed soundtrack and the visual appearence.
Fortunately the show gets better and better as the Knightsabers in Tokyo 2040 have plenty of time to develop their personalities and relationships, something that the Original Sabers didn´t had due to the limited number of episodes.
Parasite Dolls, A.D. Police TV and especially OVA are all very good.
Bubblegum Crash is a very controversial release, like many others I´m still not sure if I hate it or not^^

Only one place "Mr. Dandy" and "Say Yes" exist...
Plus I just enjoy the 80s production values, the suits are in fine form, and the characters gel nicest for me. Sonoda's art is just too good, sorry!

I recently noticed this but...there's no option for Scramble Wars! XD Nothing is more funnier than to see Sylia blast Priss into a ball of dust and sand while giving her the finger hahaha, and not to also mention her evil laugh.
