AD Police TV is being released down here in Australia on the 16th of August and I'm surprised at the amount of people who are actually excited about its release over at the Madman Entertainment forums. So I was wondering, how many of you have actually seen ADPTV? What did you think of it? If you haven't seen it, are you interested?
Just asking cause it is a very different take on a BGC universe, and this happens to be one of my personal favourite series for many reasons. I can appreciate the styles used despite the very low production value, and I happened to watch this series with someone I was very fond of who pointed out some interesting things to me lol.

So they're finally releasing it now in Australia, I'd be curious to check it out if my local Video Ezy will be getting it but from the pictures I've seen, the character designs are really laughable lol. I'm wondering though if Madman will be releasing the DVD collection of the AD Police OVA sometime in the future.
You mean that one comparison shot I showed you of BGC2040 vs ADPTV? Yeah that shot showed the difference in overall production value, but there's nothing wrong with the character designs in ADPTV.

Seen it. Liked it. It follows a lot of stereotypes of cop drama but adds a few fresh kicks, and it's nice to see something with darker and grittier production values than BGC, which didn't really capture the cyber-punk feel very well. Plus I found the characters, including side characters, more interesting.
Don't ask for any more detailed analysis from me, it's been a while since I watched either series
Just because it's in the thesaurus doesn't mean it's a good idea.
And why isn't 'dethesaurisation' in the dictionary?
So how does Mason in this series compare to the OVA and 2040 Mason? Does he have much of a role in the series anyway?
Sorry can't tell you, it'll spoil it if we explained. But let's just say he plays quite an interesting role that is similar to both the OVA Mason and 2040 Mason at the same time... You just won't realise it for the majority of the series... if you watch it XD

Well I'm the type who likes spoilers XD. TELL ME! J/K I guess I'll have to find out for myself if I choose to buy it.

I need to watch this again. All I can remember is having a really good laugh even though it's, for the most part, not a comedy. Guessing, I was probably giggling at the low budget, dialogue, and then perhaps whatever comedy elements were intentional. Kenji was cool though. :P
Have finally got the TV opening single "Imaginary Girl" sung by Infix. Can't say I'm too fond of that track but it's b-side track "Julia" is actually pretty good considering I'm not too fond of J-Rock music.
