Interesting Facts
When Leon and Daily are in the AD Police squad car in Episode 1, you can see that the scenery of the buildings outside are just going in a constant loop because it gets displaced at certain points.
Priss has a small radio that is made by "Somy"... Hmmm...
The holographic speedometer seems to be a little confused... how can it say 189km/h when the meter says it's 200+
On Priss's motorcycle, the holographic display for the odometer doesn't change for several episodes. In ep 1 her odometer reads 8145 and her tripometer measures 2.5. By the beginning of the 3rd ep when she stops at Nigel's for a quick tune-up the readouts haven't changed, even though she's put some serious mileage on it for two episodes. Only in ep 11 does her readout change to 9822 and 15.5. Also interesting is that her fuel tank always seems to be FULL no matter when you see the readout.
When Linna meets up with Priss (ep 1), as she's about to mount her cycle in the alleyway, we see her in shadow. The silhouette closely resembles the form of Linna's 'to-be-made' Knight Saber hardsuit. I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say the creator had fun with a bit of foreshadowing for Linna here.
Either Sylia is super strong or everything else is weak but for some reason she can smash things really well...
The hardsuits used in BGC2040 are were actually designed by Kenichi Sonada who was the character and hardsuit designer in the original Bubblegum Crisis. His hardsuit designs were edited and updated by Shinji Aramaki who also helped design the hardsuits in the original Bubblegum Crisis. Shinji Aramaki is also the designer of the Tactical Armours and mecha in Gasaraki.
The coffee button on the Coffee Breaker machine in the AD Police tower seems to move from the left to the middle from time to time... But nevermind that, there also seems to be a button for... Hot Orange Juice... ick...
When Linna hacked the AD Police server searching for information on the Knight Sabers, she used this address:
log on:ADPolice.go.jp/database/KNIGHT SABERS
...wait a second... since when did Linna learn how to hack into computers?
When Sylia receives a voice message from Kuzui, the date says 2032-07-12... What the?... Shouldn't it say 2040?... ah but then think. The original Bubblegum Crisis was set around that time... I'd guess this was added in just for people who would bother to look frame by frame ^_^ ...but it is still odd, the date is all wrong according to the timeline of events anyway... It's July when it should say it's May...
On the side of a building in Tokyo you will find the letters JVC written there. That's because BGC2040 is produced by JVC.
The simulation Linna went through to become a Knight Saber was dated 17 June 2039.
When Priss is eating her horseradish and mustard sandwich, the camera flicks from Linna to Priss, when this happens, the sandwich seems to be half eaten at some points and nibbled on at other points. This is because frames were reused to save time.
The factory boomer in episode 3 kinda sounds strangely like 21B (The medical Droid the works on Skywalker's new hand) from Star Wars - Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back.
Nene wears an Adis tracksuit jumper in Episode 24. It's logo strangely resembles the Adidas logo ^_^ heheh...
The band name, Sekiria comes from the words "Sekiri" and "Ya". "Sekiri" in Japanese means "dysentery" and "Ya" means "store". So Sekiria basically means... "dysentery store"... Hmmm...
Priss actually smiles once or twice in the series... no I'm not making this up! She does... you'll just have to see for yourself to believe it!
Instead of Duff Beer, the people of Neo Tokyo prefer to drink Duff Cola.
Sekiria is a four member band (a lead vocalist, guitarist, bass guitarist and a drummer) but when they play their songs they clearly sound like a five member band (a lead vocalist, lead guitarist, rhythm guitarist, bass guitarist and a drummer)... So where is this phantom member?
There were two other Knight Sabers before the current ones. One that wore a green hardsuit who was an expert in marshal arts and the other that wore a red hardsuit who was a former US special forces operative. Unfortunately they were both killed in action...
Priss's bike is a KLS-1 and uses a holographic projection system to display the speedometer and various other instruments including the rear view mirrors. It also features a over speed limit warning... not that Priss pays much attention to it. ^_^
Professor Steven Stingray, Sylia's father, used Sylia's mother to conduct experiments to create the "boomer" technology. When Sylia's mother died from the experiment, Prof. Stingray then used Sylia to create Galatea and Mackie.
There were two versions of the Motoslave. The first one was an ordinary motorcycle, it was lost in the AD Police tower siege. The second one was a boomer that looked like a bike which was lost in the final battle against Galatea.
Nigel uses Genom parts when working on motorcycles and the hardsuits used by the Knight Sabers.
Nigel was one of the engineers that worked on the projects for "boomer" technology. He also gets some action with Sylia, but that's plain obvious isn't it ^_^
In some of the dubbed versions of Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, when Priss is singing her mouth is moving way faster than she is actually singing. Well no one's perfect...
Sylia drives a Porsche with the drivers side on the left, in Japan the driver sits on the right, it's good to know they still import cars in the future... plus Sylia seems to be an unsafe driver ^_^
Nene's stuffed weasel is called Uprio-Chan however in the dubbed versions of BGC2040 he is only referred to as "weasel."
The hardsuits used by the Knight Sabers are coreless boomers... but that's not half as interesting as this: Sylia has installed detonators in the suit, in case of capture they're set to go off. Also there is a good chance Sylia has remote detonators in the suit.
Romanova comes from the Russian name, "Romanov". The name Romanov dates back to the days of Ivan IV the Terrible. (I did history at school ^_^ ) But anywayz, It's also interesting to note that Nene is also the name of a native Hawaiin Goose which is apparantly on the endangered species list which is a shame... So I say "SAVE THE NENE!!" ^_^ lol, anywayz it's also interesting to point out that in the Philipino dialect of Tagalog, "Nene" is the term used for any young girl (from childhood to around 19 years old). It's also used to describe the sweet, innocent, underage types. XD "Nene ka pa" = "You're still a little girl" ... aaand not only that. "Nene" also means baby in Portuguese.
Ever wondered what the 'S' stands for in Priss. S. Asagiri? Well I'm gonna tell you... The character and hardsuit designer of the original Bubblegum Crisis, Kenichi Sonada, is where the 'S' came from. So Priss's full name is Priscilla Sonada Asagiri.
There seem to be a lot of errors in the credits of Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040. For one thing in each episode the credits are different in some way. The first thing I noticed was that they couldn't decide which spelling they would use to spell Mackie. First it's Mackie, then it's Mackey and then even Maki. I've also found that in one part Akira Sudou's name is spelt without the "u" at the end while in another part it is spelt with the "u". Another error I've found is that in Episode 7 - Look at Yourself, Erin Nordburg's name is clearly marked on the watch her husband bought for her but in the credits she is referred to as "Ellen" ...I have taken to account the fact that there is no 'r' in Japanese, however this is still an error since Erin was found on the watch and spoken by the voice cast and Ellen found in the english language voice cast credits... Hmmm, oh yeah and one more thing. I've noticed that in the Spanish voice cast there are characters with very different names... I don't know why they'd change the characters names but it all seems so weird to me!
In ep 11 as the camera pans around the town you see two street side signs, one is QUARK and the other is BAR TEN FOWARD. A nod to Star Trek.
When Nene finally hacks the Defense Ministry's computer during the rogue military boomer episode, her monitor starts displaying repeated instructions in German for who knows what.
Priss's email menu (when Nene sends her a sleep over request) displays the following Mucacy Ojisanto, Kabaya Cocoriko, Unit Ae 35, Kitarow, Teikoko Eloashow, Best 5, and Easy Easy Easy.
When Nene hacks into the NSA satellite to track Galatia, the screen shows what appears to be a software end user license agreement.
Priss is tough, very tough. She's so tough she can stand a limited amount of time in the near vacuum of space. In the final episode as she releases her new Motoslave from it's bonds so it can help her, she raises her helmet visor. There has never been a previous indication that the Knight Sabers helmets had any secondary visor or environmental protection once the visor was opened. Due to Priss's location (somewhere in Earth orbit) it would not do for her to be merely holding her breath as other factors like pressure, temperature and radiation extremes would affect her. Her suits own oxygen supply wouldn't help as now it's being vented into space with the visor seal open.
In ep 8, when Leon is chasing after Priss in his AD Police car, the car's holographic instrument display shows the vehicle at 213km/h, yet the speedometer graph shows zero acceleration. Also, the car apparently has no oil pressure or water temperature and it's fuel tank is empty. The readable display on the dash board has "FEEL THE BEAT MULTILINK", "..UPER HICAS", WINCAM, and "TURBO PLASMA NISMO", whatever those mean.
Kuzui's first voice message to Sylia is actually July 10, 2032 (not 18, the zero is of the slashed kind). Never the less, you're right about it being a out of date to be a current message.
