Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi, the guy who did the over the top eye melting "Dead Leaves". I've seen a couple youtube trailers and it looks like proppa Gainax fanfare, thought not the usual by a longshot. I'm not sure about the plot of the show I havn't researched it yet, but the characters look original and solid. Anybody have input on this thing?

Nope. This show isn't that much about Yoko at all. She's fan service character. Though, overall, her role isn't that major. The main character, Simon, would be the primary focus of the anime. The first half of the anime deal with humanity rebelling against oppression. Trying to keep my description vague. I don't want to spoil, people.

To sum up the anime. It's hot blood giant robot action! It's been compared to GaoGaiGar, but I've only watched one episode of that anime. So, I can't confirm that view. Oh, the anime fast pace. So, every will happen all at once.
