According to the October issue of Newtype (Japan) (On sale September 10), four new Evangelion movies are in the works. The four movies will include a prequel, a mid-series movie, a sequel and a "final" movie. The prequel movie is due out early summer 2007.

so, in short, they're remaking the entire series into 4 movies. We have a beginning, two middles and an end.

depends on how they do them, I hope we dont see a massive style or VA change(dubbed). in short I hope they're good.

with how confusing NGE already is, I dont think that would be a good idea. I wouldnt be suprised of course, but I dont think it would be helpful to suddenly restructure parts of the plot.

I love Fly Me to Moon done by Utada Hikaru. Still waiting for the full version of the track myself. I'm interested in the coming EVA movies or OVA, not sure if both terms would be correct. EVA with upgraded animation should be interesting to say the least.

I hate watching the series mainly because I feel like my heads going to explode. The clip jumps every time there's a camera angle change, and the picture so grainy on my high def flat screen that I kind of chastised myself for buying the series in the first place. Even the revamped dvds were nearly shit. Maybe this newest new version of the revamped version of the series will do away with that.

@Lynk: Which shots are the new ones? Lost completely.

Look at how the pics are organized. For the first pic colllection, you'll see that the shots are organized into rows. The top row consists of entirely new shots, but the second row consists of the same shots from the original series.

To put it simply for the first one, go by rows:

- New
- Old
- New
- Old

For the second collection, the new shots are in the left column while the old shots are in the right column.

At least, that's what it looks like to me.

The reason the platinum edition didn't look good on your HDTV is because your HDTV is shit. Sorry to say it, but it is. Most HDTVs make SD media look a lot crapper than it actually does in reality.

Nothing will make anything that wasn't filmed/animated with High Definition in mind will look good on a HDTV, not upscaling and not even if they reshoot and digitise ever single cell in 1080p (nevermind the fac that it's not a widescreen anime), it won't look as good as you want it to.

I guess that's the biggest reason why Rebuild of Evangelion is made.

But then, when I think about it... how do you put up with the BGC OVA? It has a tonne of animation faults.

I know its just a trailer but I'm still blown away by the quality of some of that animation. It looks like some animators were given license to "go fix everything that you'd wish to redo with the first series".

It'll be interesting to see the finished products.
