Am I reading this right, they are currently doing another Stand alone complex story for Ghost in the Shell in Movie format, this time involving the puppet Master?

Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. Solid State Society (攻殻機動隊 S.A.C. Solid State Society, Kōkaku Kidōtai: Solid State Society) is a movie based on Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, an anime series set on the universe of the manga Ghost in the Shell. Production I.G announced the new episode at the Tokyo Anime Fair 2006. It is scheduled to be released in summer of the same year. The episode would be 100 minutes long. It is not clear whether the episode will be a feature film, a television episode or a direct-to-video product. The production team is the same as the previous TV series.

The Plot is set in 2034, two years after 2nd GIG, when Public Security Section 9 recruits 20 new members. The new event starts with 13 terrorists sharing a Sanskrit script tatoo (梵の刺青を入れた13人のテロリスト.

They take hostages in an airport, and commit serial suicides. Section 9 steps in the counter terrorism action and investigation, and corners one terrorist, only to hear terrorist's last word before commiting suicide: the existence of "super wizard" class hacker Kugutsu Mawashi ( 傀儡廻, roughly translated as "Puppet Master", but different from Ningyo Tsukai of the first movie).

sadly I think they're milking it a little too much, great show...but you can only take sooooo much.

So they decided to give Motoko a chance to meet their version of the Puppet Master. I heard that this isn't that Puppet Master from the movie version because of the different kanji characters for that master. They haven't give any details on that Puppet Master of being an AI program looking to evolving into something else or another malicious human for Section 9 fodder. Also, what about Motoko? Is she at a turning point at her life to decide for something different outside of her career or existance? One thing for sure it's not going to be at Tokyo looking like another version of Hong Kong with the canals. Then again, who's up for another interogation dialogue of a hapless character sounding like the late Don Knotts by one of the Section 9 members or even by one of the Tachikomas with a broken weapon safety.

(and no, you can't overdose on Shirow or else I would be checked into a clinic right now :P)
