So really now, havent we see just about EVERYTHING there is to see in an anime? We've seen giant robots piloted by men in tight spandex, giant robots piloted by women in tight and skimpy spandex, biological robots piloted by young boys in tight spandex, and sentient, non-piloted robots bigger than planets.

We've seen wars, battles, skirmishes, vampies, werewolves, witches and fish-men and all of the above on the same battlefiled at the same time. We've got nuclear subs, we've go non-nuclear subs, we've even some som Subway subs. There are planet-sized battle ships, battles waged with planet ships(War Planets anyone?). We've colonized Mars so many times a few people moved to Jupiter...and most of it's moons.

We've got aliens, vampires, vampire aliens, angels, vampire alien angels and more monster hunters than anybody cares to count. They've all be little girls, little boys, alien vampire monster hunter little girls and boys, old men, cyborgs, old-male cyborgs, and busty girls who's clothes seem to come off as fast as James Kirk's when he fights the ugly lizard from Omicron-Persei 8. And just when you think it's all over and the day is saved the bad guy comes back more powerful than ever and goes "bawhahaazzzz, I are them bestezzes!! All your baze are belong to meezz!!" And blows up the Earth....again...

At what point do we just stop and say, okay, there's nothing left, you've done everything that could ever possibly be imagined and at least 1 remake of all of them. Either get something new or get out of the biz. There are so many spin-offs and tangents of some shows that we're simply losing track of where this is UC 79 or CE 45.

Do you ever pop in an anime that seemes really good, but the concepts of it are so old that you simply stop because it's just THAT reused? SO whats your take, are they/we really running out of things to make shows out of?

You forgot the weird-ass animes such as Excel Saga and Puni Puni Poemi or how bout an anime called Bobobo-bo Bo-Bobo where it's about nostril hair? Now I'm sure no other anime has ever done something like that lol.

It's more of a case that you might want to start watching that that is out of the ordinary from your Typical Tastes.
Try some thing different.
Either look into another Gerne or Creator.

If you want an example, watch the Air TV some time. It different.
I am also watching Galaxy Angel (Series 1, Z, III) for some wacky fun.

And if I really need my brain to melt, there is Digi Charot

Another example is Azumanga Daioh
I know what you are saying about how there is a lot of stereo types that has been brought out again and again from the distributors. Like I am still trying to work out why and I still watching Daphne in the Brilliant Blue as this show as bugger all orginality beyond "How Much Flesh Can We Expose With Out Showing Any Private Parts"

Also, it does not hurt to take a break from watching anime and watch some thing else. Like I did a 6 week binge of FarScape not that long ago. Currently I am watching season of Star Gate after completing an Anime series.

I know what what you are saying with anime and some time it does feel that it's loosing it's orginality. If you feel that way, either take a break and watch some thing else. Or look as some other gerne that you are normally not used to seeing.

I was given a box set of Pretear for x-mas this past year from a female type that i and a few friends were exchanging gifts to each other.

I didnt think it was too bad, but definately on the girly side
and definately on the sailor moon side too

yes, I have watched girly animes. Mostly because my female freinds reccomend them to me. And I've watched alot of genres of animes. But I still feel there are alot of shows that simply lack originality, and that even the "new" shows are starting to feel old because we all know that 5 years ago the same idea was tried and either worked or didnt.
