I'm not sure whether to get this series or not.
From my perspective it seems like: Good animation, but very bad dubbing.

Are you talking about a bad english dub? Or both dub tracks are bad? I personally havn't seen this yet so I can't be a judge...
I'm going to stop talking now. Dub vs. Sub flamewars are bad. I'd definitely get it though.

Bad English dub of what?... The Shadow Chronicles has on Japanese dub cause it's not a Japanese anime. It only has one language track and it is English. But just cause it's English doesn't mean it automatically sucks. After all, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust was released first with an English track and that English track fucking rocked.

The Dub is ok, but some of the dialog is a bit suspect at times.

Hmmm...the art style of this movie made me think that it was an anime. I say this because, it seems to me that Japanese artists are sooo much better than American artists.

I don't think that at all, there are a lot of American artists in animation that are very talented. The problem is that it's become so mainstream that it starts to affect the art itself... and don't think anime is free from this either. There are a lot of animes that suffer from the same thing that look crap in my eyes cause they all look the same and are totally uninteresting in that way.
