This thread could be subtitled "the best morning ever" as well. XD

First off, I get to sleep in a extra hour due to daylight savings time here in the US. Next, I get more sleep because my family takes care of the dogs for me. Then, I get surprised with breakfast in bed at 8:30. So, I turn on the TV to see what's on on a Sunday morning at 8:30. Not expecting much, I'm munching on pancakes when I flip across an animated title called "Karas".

I had no idea what it was, but I turned it on just as it started. When it was done 90 minutes later, I was impressed... really impressed. It reminded me a lot of another movie with a couple of A's, a k and an r in the title... Akira. It had action, drama, intrigue, excellent animation, and a nice soundtrack... among other things as well.

Anyway, I'm wondering who else has seen this movie/ova... and what you thought of it?

I saw a couple minutes of the trailer on BSTV here in iwakuni, excellent animation indeed. I want it right now! Just watching the character movements made me want to scream with excitement!

I got that on dvd Kara's it was pretty damn good but alas the dvd i got didnt finish what it started, so i awesome there is more episodes/movies after

Oh man, I watched that the other night. It was great... I had the same feeling watching it that I did when I first saw the Read or Die OVA. I think it was only the first part, I'm sure theres at least one more episode.

I did a little searching and figured out that the Karas "movie" (The Prophecy) is really a combination of the first 3 OVA episodes. Apparently there will be 6 total which feels about right. It seemed like the "movie" ends about 1/2 way through the story. Now I'll probably have to wait a year or more to see the rest of it :P

I was really impressed to. I rented this on a whim because the cover art was so attractive, but I had no idea what to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised. The animation is just stunning and I completely fell into the story. I have re-watched it three times now and am just biting at the bit for the second half. Speaking of, I forget how I stumbled across this information, because Manga Entertainment's site doesn't list the release date (just says "coming soon"), but Rightstuf and Wikipedia have the release date for the second half, Karas: the Revelation listed as April 3, 2007. I can not wait!

I've got my calendar marked as well. I'm definitely aiming to buy this series too. Looks like one that's worth rewatching a few times to say the least!

Well, the April date has come and gone, but now several websites are proclaiming Sept 24, 2007 as the new release date. Doing a search, I found that the next DVD was originally scheduled to come out sometime in 2006, but the date keeps moving out from there.

We'll see... but i'm sure I'll still buy it when it comes out.
