It's extremely scary when it comes to the popularity of Pokemon, while the love of the series and merchandise has lowered in recent years, being overtaken by other franchises... the videogames gain popularity through each generation. Every new generation of Pokemon game outsells the last and does it so easily.

It's extremely scary when it comes to the popularity of Pokemon, while the love of the series and merchandise has lowered in recent years, being overtaken by other franchises... the videogames gain popularity through each generation. Every new generation of Pokemon game outsells the last and does it so easily.

People actually believe the Pokemon series dead. Quite entertaining since they merely forgot about it since they got older and lost interest in the series, like I did, but I knew the series was still going strong with each new release on GB, GBA and DS.

I'm still under the assumption though that popularity in merchandise hasn't died in Japan since the anime series seem to be going strong with releases of Pokemon movies. I've honestly lost track of the series after Orange Island and went into Silver & Gold part of the series which I believe was called Juto, though not exactly sure. In U.S. though, the popularity seem to have dwindled.

It's Johto. And I read somewhere that it's different from the Orange Islands, since there's a series titled Pokemon Johto. I used to think the Orange Islands were part of Johto.

I still see a lot of Pokemon stuff toys and the games here ^^ Even the TCG still has tournaments in Manila.

For a time, I actually thought that the Pokemon franchise was already dead here. But then, when Pokemon started airing in Cartoon Network, the Pokemon TCG suddenly revived and is now probably the most popular TCG in our school, closely followed by Magic:The Gathering.

People spend thousands on those pieces of cardboard XD What's that thing with the Colorless... I can never understand that TCG.
