"Cancelled" XD. I bet Moelman would be crying if that was actually true but this viral marketing sure as hell goes along with the weirdness of the first season.

LIMITED EDITION COLLECTORS ITEM PILLOWCASE UPDATE: Mine are still clean and folded though I did take them out of the plastic wrap they were initially packaged in to see what they looked like unfolded. They're certainly not soft enough to sleep on without being washed first, and the graphics don't seem like they could hold up to a washing machine soooo...yeah, I think I'll just frame them when I get around to it.

pillowcases only come (heh) with #3 and #4. the first LE is the keepcase and the cosplay ribbon iirc.

i wouldn't have bought all the LE's if i didn't get my work discount on them...hella pricey =( but all i really wanted was the broadcast-order bonus discs, so i was forced into the LE's anyway.

@Moel & spinkle - you're so lucky to have Bandai Entertainment release Haruhi with all those special extras. Down here in Aus the only special we've got so far is a box that contains the red Chief arm band and a special broadcast order DVD voucher offer. We have to buy the vol 1 + box to get the first voucher and then buy the remaining 3 individual volumes to get the rest before sending it to Madman with $10 for the postage and handling to receive it.

The foldout box for the limited edition of volume 1 looks great to own XD. You have drawers where the ribbon can be put in as well as the Hare Hare Yukai CD single then on top of that is where the DVD's are placed. It looks very convenient. It makes me jealous just seeing the picture of it lol.

Well I would buy them off of Amazon from those independent sellers, the prices are much cheaper than retail for new sets. Thats what I did for volume one and it came all sealed up new. But I still don't know if I'll get all the LEs even with the cheaper prices.

That's exactly what our LE foldout box is like. There is a ribbon behind the dvd cases, allowing you to slide all of them out in order to retrieve them, which does make them neat and accessible at the same time. The CDs are much harder to remove. The drawer doesn't hold much more than the four CDs (it looks like there is space for maybe another two jewel cases). I have the rest of the assorted LE trash in the filler box that took up the space intended to be occupied by the other three DVD cases. I'm hesitant to use the iron-on patches (or wear anything with them on, haha) and I really don't grasp what the pencil boards are intended for.

@moel it really just depends whether you want the broadcast order discs or not, since volume 1 gets the box and not a bonus dvd. (or voucher =\ ) if you only care to have the chronological order discs or it doesn't matter to you, just get the normal editions...though they don't really seem all that much cheaper.

I do hope they'll get more Haruhi underway, but I'd rather a quality product than just capitalization on a successful franchise. I'm not typically patient, but if there's more coming I can wait for Great as opposed to having Good now...just like waiting for constantly rescheduled Zelda games XD

I would consider importing the Bandai version of the limited edition box since it's got so many goodies with it but I'm sticking it out with my R4 DVD's and collecting all four vouchers to get the broadcast order DVD.

Just bought the second volume yesterday. Re-watching the baseball episode was funny. Haruhi making funny weird signals to Mikuru when she was on the bat XD. Classic. It was also hilarious when she was jumping up and down and flaying her arms around when Kyon and Mikuru were pitched out.

Although I didn't like it very much on my first pass (even less on my first *chronological* pass, where it feels like 100% anticlimax), I absolutely love Episode 13 now. ("Someday In The Rain")

It's awesome after having seen the eps anachronically to watch the relationship between Haruhi and Kyon build chronologically, and their comfortable familiarity in the "last" episode is a nice juxtaposition to all the playground antics and childish huffiness that run throughout most of the other eps. I do prefer it more as a breather episode during an anachronic run than as the concluding ep chronologically, tho.

Someday in the Rain is probably my favorite ep. Nice change from the others but yeah like you said its not the greatest finale which is why the eps are meant to be watched in airing order. Don't get why they didn't just release them that way in the first place.
