I currently run Win2k on my desktop, as it's nice and stable for what I do with it, and isn't too demanding on the hardware. Unfortunately, more and more software and hardware isn't shipping with support for it, so I'll have to buy an XP copy at some point, or check out Crossover Office or something like that for an Ubuntu install when I am forced to upgrade by failing hardware.
I have a Knoppix CD that I use when Win2k dies and needs to be recovered. Most of the time, there isn't a problem, but I did have one blow up that lost my user profile, and through Knoppix I was able to recover it.
