Visuals? CGI? The terms seem to have crosscut in to each other since Pixar (did they really?) redefined them all on their own as well as most video games using CGI and motion captures and the like.
What happened to the times of yore?
The term "graphics" was coined in relation to videogames back in the days when what we saw were basic representations of things. These days videogame visuals are so complex that the term has become outdated.
Resident Evil remake and Resident Evil 4 are both games that are considered to have great "graphics" but one uses prerendered environments, the other uses in-game generated environments.
