The thing is that a lot of the Macross games that have come about were all pretty mediocre, I mean they were aright I guess, but nothing that special... then you play Robotech Battlecry and that game alone puts more balance into the whole Fighter, Gerwalk and Battroid aspect of a Valkyrie when it comes to gameplay while the actual Macross games focused on the Fighter aspect alone.

If you have games that focus on all aspects of the mecha, they tend to be more enjoyable. This, sadly is where the Robotech people benefit...
