Just wondering who else is watching One Piece.

I decide to start this series up despite being 200 plus episodes deep, I have the time and since I decide to stop watching Naruto filler saga and Bleach filler story, I wanted to give this series a chance, which I was meaning to do a long time ago, but it got back logged.

Anyway, only up to episode 9. I've watched the Usopp storyline when it aired on CN, but I'm going to watch it again just for the hell of it.

Oh yes, I'm watching the japanese verison of One Piece. Not watching the dub, which I do not mind since I found some of the characters' voice fitting for them in the dub. Though, I have not watched much of the dub.

I LOVE ONE PIECE!~... if anyone didn't know already XD lol

I watch the Kaizoku-fansub version of One Piece, their DVD quality videos are very nice and aside from some choppiness with their subs at the start of the series, they're really good now with the later episodes.

One Piece's defining moment at the start is the Arlong arc, once you hit that it'll become a million times better than what it was and launch you into the Grand Line and towards Arabasta and beyond... XD It's such a great series, love it so much.

The 4Kids version of One Piece is pretty bad, the only voice that comes close to being good (compared to the others) is Zoro's. Luffy has his EXTREMELY rare moments with the 4Kids version, Nami sounds okay but a lot more obnoxious for some reason... And then there's Sanji... WHAT DID THEY DO TO SANJI?! Usopp is okay and so is Chopper... I haven't heard Robin's 4Kids voice yet... As for the edits and cuts, etc... they amaze the hell out of me considering how much effort is put into cutting and editing the series. It bugs me how toned down the voices are in the 4Kids version though, it all sounds so slow, and it's not cause of the Japanese to English conversion either... it's strange.

never bother to start it, or naruto. simply because of the length of it. sometimes i stuggle to get through a 52 or 26 episode series. lol.

I'm only at episode 19 at the moment, but since I have so much time on my hands, I can catch it in a short amount of time.

Anyway, the crew does change over time? People join and leave. What about characters' outfit? Do they change as time goes along?

I've seen 197 episodes and yes there are some crew changes over time and yes and no about their outfits... if you're female, you change your clothes regularly, if you're male you where the same thing all the time... unless you're in a special environment such as Arabasta.

Ive seen a few 4Kids One Piece episodes its the only anime they show in England on any channel on Sky the main satellite supplier here. They have like 1100 channels and only 1 anime XD

Anyway once they got to the bit with Arlongs crew they just kept replaying it over and over again.

I've watched a couple of episodes on CN...
I don't find it that good...
But only 'cos it's the cut version...

For example...

The fight on the retaurant ship with the huge pirate... can't remember his name...
He shoots needles out of his shield, that suddenly get suckers attached to them... That cause Luffy to bleed???

I need to watch a fan subbed version, like what I did with Love Hina (they completly screwed Kitsunes voice)... But unfortionitly my laptop is messed so I can't download anything...
Someone help with a website where I can watch streamed episodes?

They stopped Sailor Moon like this too... Right at the end of the series where her daughter arrives...
I heard it was because the series got more into a sexual and violent nature... So what was the point of showing it in the 1st place?

Seen the first 16 episodes of the uncut Japanese version from renting it from my anime club (rented it out of curiosity again). I gotta say I wasn't impressed with it that much, it was kind of boring really and the music didn't make it any better for my viewing that by episode 16 I gave up on it.

The only episode that even got me interested just a little bit was the one where a dog was shown trying to protect his master carrying some doggie treats then the rest went downhill. I didn't even like the characters at all and that wasn't because of the character/animation style, it's just that I always hated seeing them for some reason XD, especially the main character guy (see, I can't even remember his name lol) and his attitude.

Yes, as you can see I didn't enjoy One Piece even when watching the uncut version but that's just me and the series probably isn't my type.

I don't know, coming off of how let down I'm starting to feel by the second season of GITS SAC I'm looking for something to pick me up off the ground. I know who the hell Nami and Luffy are by the constant references in the forums, but them alone really don't flick a switch for me. What's so great about the show? Give me some positive stuff and I'll think about buying a disc or two.

Don't bother buying One Piece on DVD, the English version is by 4Kids and they've cut, edited and raped it to hell.

But I really do recommend it to anyone who loves a good adventure. The crew are a bunch of lovable idiots.

Luffy is so dense he doesn't realise half of what goes on, but he has a strong sense of honour and he'd do anything for his crew and those he becomes friends with. He ate a devil's fruit which allows him to stretch his body.

Nami is a thief who steals from pirates but ends up becoming a part of Luffy's crew, she has her own agenda of course but if you watch One Piece you'll get to find out her story which is a damn good one. She's a great navigator, loves money and is the one with the most commonsense aboard the ship.

Zoro is a swordsman, a Pirate Hunter, but even so Luffy convinces him to join his crew lol. He uses a three sword technique, one in each hand and the third he holds with his teeth. It's some crazy stuff but it's so cool when he fights! He has no sense of direction and spends all of his time sleeping... if he's awake he'll train though.

Usopp is the crews loser XD He wants to be brave but is a coward, his greatest skill is his ability to lie... though anyone with commonsense can see through it lol. Often when a fight occurs he'll stand up bravely taunting the enemy but then rushes off to hide while the others fight.

Sanji is the ships cook but of course he's pretty good at fighting too. To protect his hands he only uses his legs to fight. But the thing that makes Sanji a popular character is the fact that he's into the ladies. You'll get plenty of scenes of Sanji trying to rub up against Nami and adoring her and any other pretty girl that he can see. When he's in that mode we call him Ero-Sanji

And that's the crew for the beginning, there are other characters who join the crew such as Vivi, Chopper, Robin and some other characters.

So here's the story... "Gold Roger" was the greatest Pirate who ever lived, so great that they called him the Pirate King. When he was finally captured he told the world that he hid his treasure in an area of the ocean known as the Grand Line, that treasure is called One Piece. Whoever finds the treasure will be named the new Pirate King. It's been 20 years since Gold Roger was executed and Luffy, who aspires to be a Pirate, sets out to find One Piece.

Along the way he finds a crew and a ship and he heads for the Grand Line. This anime is long, very long (270 episodes aired in Japan and still going). But that's just fine by me cause this is one of those animes where you just don't want it to end. The adventures they go through as so damn good, but like I said, the first few episodes are rather bland because they have to go through the process of getting the crew assembled. However, once it gets to the Arlong arc it REALLY takes off and just goes straight up from there.

It's extremely funny too, there are a lot of very clever gags and downright hilarious moments in this series XD I've laughed my ass off with a lot of episodes.

You can either pick between Naruto, One Piece and Bleach. Those three, off the top of my head, are the longest running popular series going on. That's just off the top of the head, so I'm not positive.

Naruto would be ninja, One Piece would be pirate and Bleach would be death gods. It's just a matter preference since all fall under the action and comdey genre. One Piece has one genre over them, which would be adventure since One Piece plot revolve around traveling while the other two series deal with the big bad villians coming to attack and junk like that.

Anyway, can I get some information on One Piece filler season? How long to they go? Is it still on going? When does it start and end? If it's ended. I prefer skipping fillers. I have other anime series to watch than be bother filler episodes that are not insert into the actual storyline.

There are a few filler arcs, they don't go for very long though, about 10ish episodes long. They're still enjoyable though and are still a part of the story, they're just called filler arcs cause they didn't appear in the manga. Otherwise there's nothing else that seems different about them as opposed to "story" eps.

Edit: Naruto is the current anime in England i started watching it is a bit interesting with the jutsu and masters and stuff i like the information and historical bits they go through in the show and Sakura is crazy XD

I'm trying to find dubbed eps of One Peice and Bleach, and just watching the CN version of Naruto since they've seem to be doind a rather good job editing that.

I believe it's been said, but no un-cut dubbed One Piece is out at the moment. You don't want cut One Piece. I watched a few episodes of cut One Piece and compared it to un-cut One Piece. Big difference.

I'm currently at episode 61. Is the current saga involving the dragon and Erik a filler saga? If it is, it's not all that bad.

Well, some people might complain about the cut version of One Piece, but I'm not :P

That's because its one of my kids favorite shows. They love watching that and Naruto. I'll watch Naruto with them... but not One Piece. Just not that interested in One Piece, although it is funny to watch a scene here and there.

It's not that we're complaining that a cut version exists... we're complaining that 4Kids doesn't have the decency to at least release an Uncut version on DVD for the rest of us. After all there are plenty of animes that have been cut up for the TV release, but have gotten an uncut DVD release. Animes like DBZ, and eventually Card Captor Sakura... notice how I've stopped complaining about CCS? XD

Cut up One Piece isn't very funny at all really x.x it's really bad.

When a good time to watch the movies? Like, I don't want to watch a One Piece movie that include Robin or Chopper, but the first five. I only don't want to see them since they have yet to join the crew. So, yeah, I'm looking for when a good time to watch movie.

If you watch 1-50, then be a good time to watch the first movie. That's an example of what I'm looking for, if that makes much sense.

it's another of those insanely long shows I really dont want to put the effort into waiting/watching all of it. I have watched some, I saw alot of the starting storyline, then missed alot after that. It wasnt my thing. I'm not exactly sure why, maybe the digimon-esque style of calling out their attacks, but for people did it in for me. dunno, I dont like it much.

Calling out attacks is in a lot of animes... but I don't actually mind with One Piece since not all characters call out their attacks, usually just Luffy, Zoro and Ussop.

Lynk, basically all the characters call out their attacks, even the villians. Though, that doesn't bother me. Not sure why that of all things would turn you off to a series.

These fillers are much better than Naruto by a large margin. I class fillers as episodes that have nothing to do with the overall development of characters or storyline. Just throw the characters into an adventure and let it roll from there. Once it over, you hear no mention of that adventure again in the anime. Happen quite a lot. I'll still stay by the opinion that Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo had many episodes that I consider just throwing characters into an adventure and forgetting about it once it was complete.

Anyway, most people don't have time to watch ridiculously long series, especially if they didn't catch it from the start. I'm currently on G-8 arc myself and will continue to climb up to 270 plus episodes.

Just finished the Skypiea, not sure about the spelling, arc. Didn't like it at first, but got much better. Did like the fact that the crew didn't do all the fighting and they had other fights here there against Enel's force and Wiper's force. Enel didn't look completely stupid either. Did have a god complex.

I was thinking about Luffy being immune to lighting for a period, but throw the idea away, because I thought it was ridiculous, but I guess I was wrong and dead on.

Another good arc. I enjoyed it.

@ Eva: What I was trying to say is that not all characters yell out attacks and sometimes characters that do, don't.

*shrug* it's just something that bugs me. If gundam series called out attacks like "fin funnles go!" or "Kira no lose!!!" when fighting, I probly wouldnt enjoy gundam either. It's just one of my peeves, it got to me in Inuyasha, to an extent in Naruto(all the Jutsu names) and in One Peice...probly stems from my dislike of Pokemon and them going "*pokemon name* I choose you!"

But the length is really whats killing me, I just dont have the energy to watch all that. If I could see 4 episodes a day, sure, but one or two every day, out of some hundreds of episodes is just too long IMO.

Wish you were watching the series up to date, Lynk. Watched up to episode 266 and only ten episodes away from being up to date. I badly want to discuss the current arc of CP9, so far, one of my favorites arcs of the series already.

I couldn't up to One Piece after taking a extended break from watching anime. I just skipped a bunch of recap episodes, then was treated to brand new opening and back to action of the Straw Hats Pirates against CP9.

I'm curious, where are you with One Piece, Lynk?
