Ahh, Tesujin28 was possobly the first mecha anime around the 60s.
Tesujin brought up the concept of a boy controlling a a giant robot that was used to fight eather other robots, aliens, or that one jock who spits in your lunch but he secretly takes steroids. Tesujin28 was controlled by a remote that the main character had...now when you think of this, it might be alot safer to controll the robot in a safe distance than be inside the robot (not including those Evas since their half living or something) but it dose make piloting a mecha more cooler.
This topic is basicly chating about the anime, showing funny pics/comics, what you thought about the anime and etc.
enjoy!
hmm, never heard of that series, ill see if i can find anything on youtube
i think is tetsujin 28. that the one i used for my e-mail add.
Wow, Tesujin 28... that's so old skool that I think it may be too old skool for a lot of people XD

So that means the anime should be forgotten while animes like Evangelion get a lot of attention? I mean, Testujin28 was like the first mecha anime. It introduce the concept of a kid piloting a robot.
I heard the same thing from someone I know in real life (Who likes anime).
It makes me wonder why anime fans don't like classical animes .
If you also think the intro/outro songs are "old skool", check this out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=900E-DOC72k
I'm not being harsh, I just don't know why people don't like the anime =/.
Who said people don't like it? This is kind of like what happened to Super Dimension Fortress Macross. It's a great anime in so many ways, but the only thing people know about Macross is Robotech. The reason isn't because people don't like Macross. I'm sure if they were actually aware of the series, they'd end up liking it. The problem is that most people are only aware of Robotech and haven't even heard of Macross as a stand alone anime series in the first place.
It is a shame that more people don't acknowledge great works like Tesujin 28 and Macross, but this kind of battle of the mainstream vs the niche goes on with pretty much everything. If all you're doing is looking for acknowledge for a niche anime in a mainstream environment, you're not going to find much success.
In this forum, we have a lot of Bubblegum Crisis fans... and Bubblegum Crisis is not a mainstream anime. I started a website long ago that got a bunch of people together who all had the same interest and we realised there are more of us than we actually thought.

Wait...so you agree with me or disagree...am I missing something...? I mean, I'm not bashing mainstream anime. I'm just saying that animes like Astro Boy and Tetsujin 28 seem to be forgottned by some (or something) people. There was this one guy who made fun of Astro Boy and said "This is were anime came from?! Hahaha!"
I'm sorry if I sound harsh or something, it's just that I don't want someone bashing on classical animes like Tetsujin 28 or something.

Wait, BGC isn't mainstream? I'm asking seriously, I thought it was pretty standard since it was one of my first anime along with Macross and Appleseed. (I'm discounting Star Blazers, my "real" first anime at around 5 years old)
I don't know that I've ever seen Gigantor, though we have sold a couple copies of the box sets at work. Let's be fair, a show from 1964 isn't nearly as likely to be popular with current generation fans as stuff that's more recent (and less, ahem...dated). Hell, Space Battleship Yamato, as huge as it is/was with my generation in both its original form and as Star Blazers, barely even show up on the radar of current generation fans, if at all. It's like asking kids which they like more, Ultraman or Power Rangers...it's a no-brainer. Even if shows like Gurren-Lagann have their roots in Gigantor, that doesn't make it completely indisposable for enjoying current shows in their own context...for better or for worse.
(btw, screw Robotech, haha, trying to watch that after getting into Macross was like trying to enjoy pudding after growing up eating creme brulee)
@ Juliusanime: No one in here was bashing Tetsujin 28 or any other classical anime...
Now as for my last post... I was telling you that I know how you feel because there are animes I like which don't get recognised compared to a lot of other animes which everyone seems to know and love almost unconditionally.
So yes, I agree with you... I just like saying more than just "I agree" I was trying to let you know that it only seems like there aren't enough people who appreciate the classics, but if you look in the right places, you can find a lot
@ spinkle: It isn't, at least not compared to a lot of other animes, but maybe I should've said something like "I thought not a lot of people knew about it" or something cause that was my motivation for starting The Bubblegum Crisis Center.
