I remember watching it, it was okay, didn't really get some of the humor. But I also watched Puni Puni Poemy, and I thought that was more funny.

I've seen 2 or 3 episodes, I didn't like it that much but I don't even know which episodes I saw so maybe if it had been started from the beginning it could have been more enjoyable.

Excel Saga is cracked out, but it gets seriously entertaining after a while and is overall worth the time. Some excellent (heh) running gags and an absolutely bizarre and almost irrelevant plot...it's like a constant non-sequitur that almost makes sense but doesn't. It doesn't bear much rewatching though.

Yeah, one thing Excel Saga really requires for maximum enjoyment is an understanding of Japanese culture and related references and all that kinda jazz... well not just Japanese... there are a few American cultural references in there as well which is great XD

Excel Saga is about whatever the hell you want it to be about. Martians trying to take over the world, or an underground organisation's attempt to take over a city as part of plans for global domination, or Nabeshin, or ... or... or....
Really, don't try to analyse the "story" too closely. Just enjoy the gags. This coming from someone who watched it and felt that the characters were only slightly more insane than her friends...
Just because it's in the thesaurus doesn't mean it's a good idea.
And why isn't 'dethesaurisation' in the dictionary?
