The Motoroid doesn't look very good there, it needs to look more metallic and far less plastic. Priss' hardsuit looks similar to the ones released not long ago.

Granted the Motoriod is somewhat plastic looking, but it reminds me of the Gundam Wing figures that were widely released here in the US. As long as you don't lose the pieces, they are somewhat indestructible.

Hopefully the Motoroid is of similar quality. And yes, even at $60 I may have to order one of those myself. XP

I can add a bit of an update- apparently Yamato is working on the other Knight Sabers and their Motoroids. There is no word on a release date for them, however.

I expect that the motoroids will be re-paints, but the suits will be a bit trickier. Hopefully Yamato can do a good job of getting the joints right for good poseability.

Later on Sylia also made her a new motoslave called a Tempest. (Featured in the BGC RPG)

Besides, it was based on production art. Granted, it never made it into the show, but, hey, lots of canon never makes it shows. ^_^

Yeah, but then not all production art makes it to the show either for good reason XD I've seen a tonne of production art for various shows that never make the final cut.

So unless it's in the show or explicitly stated by the creators that it's part of the final version, then it's not canon... even if it never made it to the show.

I think that unless BGC has some massively huge resurgence we probably won't get much beyond the four motoroids and the suits. It would be nice to see Yamato try their hand at some K-11s, -12s and some of the Boomer types, however.

Well we did get those four Knight Saber action figures with replacable heads (helmets on and off) awhile back... those were pretty cool and very well designed... I really wanted to get them but figured I couldn't really afford to get em...





From the looks of it, these older ones are superior to the ones Yamato are making...

I managed to get the Nene one, but only because I moved fast and saved on the Early Bird offer. Those figures were made by Atelier Sai, and are bigger than the Yamato figures, and pretty nicely finished. The poseability is good, and best of all, it's hard to spot the joints. On the other hand, like you noted, the price isn't too good.

They've been doing so many re-makes and whatnot lately (like Slayers), that perhaps there will be more interest in older series like BGC, and more emphasis on releasing more merch from it. It'd be nice, at least.

Hmm... if they were to remake Bubblegum Crisis again, I'm not quite sure how they'd approach it. There are several manga stories and stories in the B-Club specials that can still be told, if they want to expand on the universe.

If they want to re-tell the story, I would suggest going back to the OVA originals rather than the TV series, as there's more room for interpretation with the OVAs, and more room for expansion and examination of some of the less well illustrated details.

Okay, and because I like redheaded Nene.

Maybe we can have both Nenes- one would need a different name, of course, but their personalities are different enough that it would make for an interesting relationship dynamic.

Psh. We already had a "remake" of BGC remember... it was called Tokyo 2040.

I'll put this bluntly. Face it, you're never going to relive the oldskool way of BGC ever again. If a new BGC is made it's going to be some newskool crap to do with the 2040 timeline or something.

I personally hope they DON'T make another BGC unless they really put some damned effort into it this time. It seems like every BGC series released was such an half-assed thing...

Well, I did say "remake Bubblegum Crisis again". And to your second point- now that it's about ten years on from 2040, it's pretty even as to whether they'd re-make or extend the OVA or TV series. The Japanese tend to have a lot of affinity for originals versus sequels or remakes, I have found.

I'm pretty neutral about remaking BGC nowadays. It'd be nice if it happened and was done right, but there are lots of things that would be nice.

The problem is that most Japanese don't care about BGC at all which is the biggest reason why we're not seeing much of it around. The real interest anyone has in BGC comes from outside of Japan.

Oh, and a member of another forum notes that the Boomer and ADP trooper can be picked up if you send in a certain number of UPC codes from the full-sized motoroids. I've seen this before with magazines and figures, and of course back in the old days they did this with cereal boxes, but it seems unusual to me.
