It's all in Japanese as you can see but it's an announcement of a full CG work of a Resident Evil anime based off the games. It will be co-produced by Capcom and Sony Pictures.
I haven't really played the game so I don't know much about the storyline of the game other than people getting infected by a virus which kills them and then turns them into a zombie. For those who have played it or are familiar with it, what do you think? Will an anime series based off the game work? What do you hope to see in it?
Well I've played maybe half of RE4 and I don't know why I stopped playing it, its a great game. I could see it working as an anime but since I haven't played the other games I can't give a great opinion. I don't know if I'd be interested enough to actually watch it.

Considering they've done three live action movies on it already I'd say the anime has a very good chance of being successful... although probably not to the extent of the movies obviously XP

Not very excited about this at all... mostly because the three live-action movies SUCKED.

Lol at that Resident Evil movie that had the Nemesis fight in it with that girl XD
What do people usally say about games turned into animes/movies here? Oh yeah XD
The only reason Resident Evil/BioHazard works as a cheesy survival horror thing is because it's a game, not a movie. The best part comes from playing it.

Leon + Claire FTW.
Leon is my favourite RE character. Now that I know that Leon is in it, I'm actually looking forward to this XD He's such a champ.
And it's interesting to note that this movie takes place 1 year after RE4.

Well I'd definitely watch this if Leon stars. Now just to beat RE4 first. XD

Yeah, even if the movie is complete bullshit, if Leon stars, then I'm so there.
And I gotta say, this is how I imagined RE4 to look like if they actually bothered to upgrade the graphics for the Wii Edition to take full advantage of Wii's power.
EDIT: Trailer...

No, I'm not. If Mario Galaxy has taught me anything, it's that you don't underestimate what can be achieved on Wii. Just cause it's not a PC and just cause it's not a High Definition system like the PS3 and 360 doesn't mean it doesn't have what it takes to output stunning visuals. Most people didn't believe RE4 would look any good on the GameCube when it was first announced and most people thought every game on Wii would look utterly crap, but when it comes down to it, it's down to how smart the developers are that makes the real difference and if they're clever enough to use the system's true abilities rather than just rushing along to try to get the game made and finished.

I'm not underestimating anything nor do I care which system is better, my point is, they use computer clusters for render the frames of a CG movie, so comparing a raytraced render with console graphics made me go ¬¬

Yes, I'm aware of how CG movies are made, Mav. But I was speaking from a purely visual stand-point in terms of overall quality rather than the technical aspect. I'm not completely ignorant of all of that, I just have a different way of looking at things.
And for the record, I wasn't talking about which system was better or anything like that either. All I said was that this is how I imagined RE4 would look like if Capcom had've remade it rather than simply ported it from the GameCube to Wii.
To make things clearer, while I wasn't exaggerating, I wasn't saying it would look like a prerendered CG movie with all the many, many hours of work that go into every frame, I was simply... you know what, nevermind XD I have no idea how to explain this to you.
EDIT: Okay, I think I've figured it out now. I'm aware that you can't technically do any of the things you can do on a console compared to a CG movie, but my point is you don't have to. Most of what goes on with console graphics is trickery. Most people didn't think the GameCube would be enough to make a good looking game that became Residet Evil 4, but they were proven wrong. And then when RE4 was ported to the PS2 and it looked basically the same, people thought "well of course, the PS2 has just as much power as the GCN"... that isn't true. Almost every effect in the game had to be removed and had to be faked, but the game still looked just about right and in the end it didn't really matter to people.
When RE4 was ported to Wii, and I acknowledge that Wii doesn't have that much more power than the GameCube, but the fact still remains that the game doesn't push Wii's capabilities like it did with the GCN. It doesn't even come close to using Wii's true hardware potential.
Now Capcom have very talented people working for them and it's my confidence in them and my confidence Wii's hardware abilities that allow me to believe this is achievable, even if it's not on a purely technical level... but like I said before, it doesn't have to be.
