There have been a lot of rumors going around that Haruhi was supposed to be announced on July 7 at http://www.haruhi.tv ...I can't read what it says so I don't know if it does or not, but there are a lot of sites saying the August edition of Newtype confirms this rumor.

I think this is the newtype article "confirming" haruhi season 2 http://pc.webnt.jp/special/sp070626_haruhi.html at least it has a nice hirano aya video

and theres some weird really long video on this site http://haruhiism.com/ that I haven't even finished watching yet and it says 7.7.07, which has obviously passed.

So it sounds like it will be this fall but I could be wrong since I can't read japanese and the translator sites can't do japanese right.

That's good news. I do hope they show the episodes in order this time around. I know there reasoning for showing them out of order, but I didn't like that. I'm not a huge fan of Haruhi and due it's popularity, it's over-rated, like any overly popular anime would be. Still, I'm a fan of the series and can't wait until the second season.
