Mid-way through the series, almost all the male characters had some kind of "female friend". Quatra and Wufei, only the former actually comes off as gay, are the only ones without women.

On the first post: I liked the way Envy is done. The ambiguousness was very fitting to the whole "shapeshifter" thing. I always just assumed it was a she though because of the tube-top and mini-skirt/hotpants. the male head looked really akward on her body, like some bad attempt at modding.

Maybe the "bishonen" boys are an attempt to appeal to the...less than straight men who watch anime....Which I would be curious to know how many anime fans that actually is. I can't imagine(in japan of all places) that they're a very big market. Maybe it's just because alot of anime's are invented by women, maybe our idea of a square-jawed male is really the exception and not the rule.

There is a explination for the physical things. Its mostly a cyborg thing which means, if you don't have the parts, your not going to be able to recieve the same information that would be deemed as "pleasureable." It mostly applies to full cyborg bodies on bassis of touch information, and not for those that have E-Brain implants, unless they have invaded/jumped in to chat with someone having a moment with a significant other over a communication line, which results in feed back in information of parts they do not have.

Technicaly the major can have sex with another human, but within cyborgs, full cyborgs, its a matter of having the proper parts or compatable same parts, because each sexed part relays different information to each user of said parts.

I am not sure whether Gundam Wing the kids where prepubescent or in that transitioning stage, or where actual maturing teenagers by the end of the series. Maybe Gundam wing was a sort of nostalgic return to the old "Boy and Robot" series, notting on the kind of fire power each machine had and a unique ability each pilot possesd.

I think the GITS universe limits itself to specifically basics as signals of touch to cyborgs between cyborgs and also based on their parts, but when it comes to a human and a cyborg, specialized gynoids or sexaroids which might be equiped with such implants might be present to allow the human psycology of a regular human to be able to accept the gyonoid as the real thing.

Biological implants based on pheromones and hormones can be seen as merely extras, while either those that practice the moonlighting acts or actually have a proffesion in it, might actually use them in the profession to please the customer, even if its just a simulation with the patron only pluged in with a cable to a computer, that situation the patron being only a E-Brain implant only and not a complete cyborg. This also applies to dream experiences, if you have read the new light novels that hace been recently released.

For the patrons that seek a real experience and not just a subsititue, it seems that based on feedback alone, the cyborg might either have to choose to either have stimuli enacted upon self, or have to find soem sort of willining provider to have physical stimulation.

If you ever seen a brain opperation, you might see the doctors sending electrical stimuly to certain parts of the brain, resulting in involuntary reactions from the patient such as eyes closing, lauphing, hands opening and closing. Assuming that even emotional experiences and physical sensations can be replicated or reproduced by biological chemical reactions and singals based on touch, they can also be broken down in to electronic signals that can be gender specific to the sex of the person, and can be modified for the sensitivity of an individual.

Sure, male and female parts are incompatible... but I don't think this is meant to be taken that literally. I know of the process of information sent directly from one person to another is a common thing in GitS and obviously there would be incompatibilities in that sense, but I'm sensing the is SO MUCH more to it than what's I'm reading. There are so many holes I'm sensing it's not funny.

I think official stats put all the G-boyz at about 16. so mid-pubescent. lol. Though the "teenage boy pilot" is a common theme in all gundam series, moreso in alternate universe series than in UC timelines. Though we have of course, our: Amuro(whos like 15), that kid I hated from Zeta gundam, that kid who got killed in Char's Counterattack. As for AU series, we has Gerrard in Gundam X, Athrun, Kira, and innumerable other teenage boys in Gundam Seed, the same characters in Seed Destiny and that other kid who I wanted to throttle throughout the show, and a couple, slightly older teenagers(only by a year or two), and of course, the worlds biggest crybaby, Cagali..... 08th MS Team has Shiro(as I'm sure your well aware of) and that kid who was always reading his "dear john" letters. 0080 had Bernie and Chris(girl) who were in their late teens, possibly 20-22. 0083 had Kou, who was a little older, 23 I think.

AH! Yes thanks for pointing that out. My entire ramlbes are only to the GITS universe, and have no grounded application to other UnivereseS! in which cyborgs may exist, and that is another entirely new debate.
