Oh great... I think Macross has finally sold out... x.x ...unless that's just another one of the funky costumes that is used in the concerts, that's okay with me...

Oh hey, I didn't realise it was from that perspective, from my first view it was where Alto was seen in the distant background behind the chick... and I didn't scroll down to see the second part of Alto looking up in awe.

But what I meant by "sold out" was that they're going full force with that cliche anime thing which Macross has mostly avoided for a long time... but now... well it's pretty much like every other anime now... the uniqueness has been washed away after all these years... it's a shame, but it was bound to happen. They're still going to try to be true to the original concepts but it's no longer anywhere near the Macross we used to know.

So in other words, they sold out because they want to try to attract that larger audience using methods and styles which are prominent on other animes.

...obviously I don't approve... it's BGC2040 all over again x.x

Finally caught up with Frontier, I wasn't really paying attention to it lately... I actually had the first 3 eps on my PC for awhile but haven't watched it till now... it's okay, still not anywhere near as awesome as SDF and Plus but *shrugs* It's pretty good for something that's gone mainstream.

It's funny how much they're following the plot and event points from SDF Macross though... it's pretty much the biggest thing that's making me enjoy Frontier so far.

Oh, and I spotted a Destroid Monster... at least I spotted the distinctive eye which is painted on Destroid Monsters... I still hate it how the first episode showed Tanks instead of Destroids...

I'm actually quite enjoying the series so far, especially the links to the original.

I don't watch a lot of anime, so I don't know if it has sold out or not. But for me it is a good addition to the saga, at least at the start.

I think the throwbacks to SDF Macross are the most enjoyable parts of Frontier... which isn't necessarily a good thing because the rest seems to generic anime-ish stuff... it doesn't feel very Macross-ey... to me. Hopefully the series will pick up though. There are good things about it, but a lot of very *yawn* it's been done things as well.

EDIT: Just watched ep4... it's getting better. I still feel that it's walking a very fine line though, some things about it make me facepalm, but other things about it that are genuinely good.

I think it is a good series so far and that my critical nature towards things I like is what makes me doubt it... but I have good reasons for being so critical so

It's better to be critical of the series then watch it turn out to be really good rather than being hyped about it and then getting disappointed when it doesn't hold up in the end... and so many anime series are like that where they start out wonderfully then simply fizzle out and you get a pretty weak ending.

I share a similar opinion with Lynk about Frontier.

But from my personal perspective, Frontier seems like SDF Macross for
fangirls. (No offense to anyone here, but that's just my opinion.) I've watched all 4 episodes so far, and, even though I do have my worries, I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed for now.

Oh and LMAO @ this: South Park Meets Macross Frontier Well, in one scene, anyway. XD

For fangirls and anyone who likes bouncy breasts... remember a time in a Macross series when sex and related subjects were treated as an adult subject rather than a childish gag? This is yet another anime cliché which has found its way onto Macross.

I just watched episode 5 on Veoh.com. Unfortunately there is no subbed version online yet, so I couldn't understand what the hell the characters were saying. XD

I've watched all 6 episodes and I'm liking this series more and more.

Episode 7 seems like an action packed episode. Can't wait to see it

I watched Episode 8 on Tuesday and, all I can say is...UGH! A lot of high-school and immature humor during the entire episode.

I'm going to have to give this episode a 2 out of 5. I hope episode 9 is better.
