The introduction at the start of every AD Police episode (except for the first episode), as well as the badge/shield shown just before the opening animation sequence is played, is inspired by the radio and television police drama, Dragnet, one of the most famous and influential police drama's of all time. Additionally, the dispatch announcement is inspired by Hill Street Blues.
Muneyoshi Kaibara, the chairman of the Genom Corporation in AD Police TV, and Quincy Rosenkreutz, the chairman of the Genom Corporation in Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, are both born in 1951.
