June 7th, 2000 - ?

Nene Romanova woke up with a jolt, nearly smashing her head into the lamp above her bead as she sat up straight in bed, fully awake despite the relatively early hour (11:40 on a saturday). Breathing heavily, she looked around herself disorientedly, then looked beside her in the bed. The fact that Priss was not lying there confirmed that what she had just experienced had indeed been a dream, and not a real experience. In retrospect, she was glad that it had been - she had a big enough emotional crisis in her mind as it was. Deciding not to attempt to go to sleep again, she swung her legs out over the side of the bed and stood up. Outside, the sun was shining and Nene felt alot better as she pulled away her pyjamas, immersing herself in the warm rays. She was just about to go for some clothes, when Priss strode in, fully awake as well as fully clothed. "Mornin'" the clothed one said casually, apparently undisturbed by Nene's lack of clothing. She, however, was not. "HEY!" she yelled, demonstratively covering herself up as best she could with her hands. "Mind letting me get dressed before you barge in??" Priss looked at her, a little too closely for Nene's liking, and chuckled. "Oh please Nene-chan, if I wanted to see porn I'd just turn on the TV. Speaking of TV's, I caught something on the news you just might want to see."

Nene, not really caring about what was on the news but instead wondering if she should feel relieved or insulted that Priss did not consider her a premium source of naked beauty, grunted something unintelligible and began rooting around in her drawers, looking for something to wear. She eventually found some clothes and began putting them on. Noticing that Priss had stopped talking, she turned around and asked annoyedly, "Well, what was it?" Priss smiled. "Well, it seems our innocent victim of yesterday is alive after all." Nene, still getting dressed, froze mid-movement. "Are you kidding me? How can she be alive?" the young blonde demanded, not believing her ears. "Oh, I'm not sure really." Priss replied. "The police are searching for her, it seems she walked away from the scene on her own. I must admit though, I am doubtful too. She seemed kinda' dead when we got to her." Nene shuddered, suddenly reminded of last night's horrible events. "Don't remind me!" she whined, while putting the remainder of her clothes on. Properly dressed, she walked over to the TV, and turned it on.

"...and now, the twelwe o'clock news in summary" the speaker announced. "The bombing of a yet-to-be identified transport last night baffles the Tokyo police. According to official sources, evidence were found at the explosion indicating someone, possibly one of the bombers, were caught in the blast. However, no body was found - according to police technicians the victim 'walked away on his own', despite possibly life-threatening injuries. The police are currently conducting a city-wide search for this person - if you would like to contribute, call our hotline at .."

Nene turned off the TV. "Wai!" she cried excitedly. "She's alive!" Priss looked distastingly at Nene. "Hmpfh" she grunted, somewhat annoyed at Nene's excitement. "It's not like it's something to get all worked up about, although I admit it is a good thing to hear. What's important is, we just might have another job." Nene looked at Priss in surprise. "Already? It's only morning!" she asked, doubt evident in her voice. "Yessss..." Priss replied, again slightly annoyed. "While you were here sleeping on your sweet little ass, I was on another meeting with Leon - not in the park this time, mind you." Nene laughed. "Funny that you should use the words 'ass' and 'park' in the same sentence..." she giggled, ignoring the cold look Priss gave her. "Ah well," she continued just as jovially, "what is this job about, then? Not another bombing, I hope." Priss smiled. "No, not another bombing. Leon wasn't very forthcoming with the details, and I haven't decided whether or not I think we should take it, but apparently it's some kind of data recovery." "Data recovery?" the blonde replied, yawning theatrically. "The kind of job where you stick me in front of a computer for ten hours straight with keywords so vague I get 30 billion search results, 60 percent of them porn sites, and 30 .." her monologue was interrupted mid-sentence by the doorbell.
