the worst problem with anime's being made into movies is that the characters in the show(not movie) rarely look asian. Then all of a sudden you've got a movie filled with all these asian people and it's like: WTF?

Well Gits Live Action will probibly be good with all this high grade CGI XD
I would watch it =P

Actually I can see GITS possibly being better live than animated. Am I just being optimistic?

If they do make one, they better do it right. It will be interesting of how much CG will go into this movie. Time will tell.

You just made me think about what the person playing Motoko will wear XD
Not very much, Chim XP
Just because it's in the thesaurus doesn't mean it's a good idea.
And why isn't 'dethesaurisation' in the dictionary?

well sometimes movies that do this do it well. others take a nosedive into a d-class picture that just skips the silver screen altogether.
god i hope not. aeon flux, ultra voilet,...
damnit! why! why did they screw em up1!

being a guy, one of my biggest nitpicks would be that japanese women don't fill out anything close to motoko. granted Motoko is about as real as barbie, but I don't want to see some actress with a B-cup trying to fill out Motoko's shirt.

it will also be odd it having different voices probably. we've all grown accustomed to the subbers since the begining of GitS
I'm open to the Idea right now, once filming and such begins, then I'll bitch about charecter flaws
Aramaki and Togusa are the only two I could see as being of Asian decent
they have to be Caucasian, um Refugee act?
2 February 2007, 11:53 AM
Dosnt someone on the C3F look like Togusa XD
I'm always leary about the move to live action...

I remember some Asian girls dressing like Motoko... I forgot where that was, but I think it had something to do with the live-action idea.
GITS has to become live-action. I've waited for this, it's only a matter of time.

Just imagine the scene, Lynk sitting in his chair 2 Asian girls in front of him cosplaying different characters XD

*shrug* I've seen people with dyed purple hair it's not that bad, besides, they'd probly make it blackish.

@ Rebel: They could easily go for the look of the movies.

If it is live-action, would Motoko have to be naked during the action scenes?
I'm just saying, given how the Ghost in the Shell anime films were made.
But I'd still see it, being both GitS anime movies were great, though I have yet to see SAC.
The GiTS: SAC 1st Gig boxset is realy cheap

Hi, There was a book released for Stand Alone Complex season one with episode screecaps and synopsis. At the back of that there was a series of photos of a Japanese model dressed as the Major. Quite good too.
18 February 2007, 11:15 PM
Maybe i should look at the booklet some time XD
18 February 2007, 11:44 PM
Yeah, the Book is called 'Stand Alone Complex Visual Book' Just Google it , its still readily available from quite a few places
19 February 2007, 4:09 AM
Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex: Official Log 1 is the full title. Its a great read and overview of the series, it also comes with a DVD with some interviews and other assorted stuff on it. I snagged it from the Suncoast clearances back in 2005 for 10bucks

Yeah, I have it, and I'm waiting for the second one to be released.

Is it the one that was released last year? I believe the title is S.A.C The Movie 2006 or something like that..

No, Solid State Society is a SAC movie, but it's different than what I was talking about.

It's not like it matters, the movie will probably be shit anyway. Anime/video game to Big Screen adaptations suck (with the exception of transformers) so yeah, I'm pretty sure that even though Pro I knows show business there's still a ton of room to muck it all up.
Youshould really not say that to a GITS fan....... Chimy, I am gonna murder you........ If you ask me, Transformers is the thing that sux...

You know, it might not be bad, but it might be bad. Its going to end up being on finding the either to compromise on voice talent via the actors physical semblance to the character.
Easily enough villains aren't that hard to make up, its just keeping the semblance of the characters of the show to appear IRL in semblance. I think voices would have to be left open to how it sounds to having the true nature of the character come out when the actor speaks.
Its going to be a difficult balance of compromise in casting, especially physically.
But hey, in the least, the Tachikoma will keep their voice actors, and you can't go wrong there!

While that would be nice they could very well choose a completly different set of actors to voice the Tachikoma's
Although i hope they do keep the originals... it wouldnt be the same without them

Somehow I don't think they'd have the Tachikoma's in it... maybe Fuchikoma's if they really want to add something for those in the know... but the Tachikoma's themselves are really a Stand Alone Complex thing.

Since the Tachikoma are unique to GITS, would the possibility of Proto showing up be slim?
I dunno *shrugs* We haven't heard anything about this movie since they said they were gonna make it lol.
