Tell us what kind of music you listen to, who your favorite bands or artists are.
Me, I used to listen to a lot of rap, but I've kinda lost interest in some of it now, excluding the beasties. I've been listening to a lot of older stuff more recently. My 2 favorites are probably Beastie Boys and David Bowie, I've been listening to a ton of them recently.
Im into metal myself however i like any kind im not into one particular type. however rock/Metal are still personal fav's
Current favorite band is Machine Head

I listen to a lot of anime related music and my taste in music is pretty wide so I listen to a lot of bands and artists... but one band I can say that is a favourite for sure is Pearl Jam.

i love my metal. stuff like MuDvAyNe, Machine Head, Children of Bodom, Killswitch Engage, etc. I also dont mind Screamo, bands like lostprophets.
but youve gotta love everything. im listening to old Bon Jovi right now, i also have Elton John on my harddrive, Skyhooks, stuff like that. I LOVE INXS!!!!
another awesome band is Gwar, and 8 Foot Sativa (a newzealand band)
those are just a few of my fav bands, i have heaps.

OMFG, JOHN CENA ROX HARDCORE!!!
Nah, I don't like him, but I don't mind his music all that much. My favorite artist or band is In Flames. Though, I listen to a lot of anime and game music, but if there's a specific band I like, it's In Flames. I have a few japanese band I like, but their names escape me at this current moment.
anyone who listens to In Flames is alright by me!
new stuff (Soundtrack to your Escape and Come Clarity), or the old stuff?
I Killed The Prom Queen.

new stuff (Soundtrack to your Escape and Come Clarity), or the old stuff? Soundtrack to your Escape is old, but Come Clarity is new. Soundtrack to your Escape was released in April of 2004. While I believe Come Clarity was released just last month in December, though I'm not sure. I have yet to listen to Come Clarity.
yeah, but i was reffering to the style they play. to me there is a huge difference between Whoracle and Soundtrack. Come Clarity continues the sound of Soundtrack. So stuff like Soundtrack or stuff like Whoracle?

So stuff like Soundtrack or stuff like Whoracle? Soundtrack to Your Escape while Whoracle was good. The difference in style did bother me, but I believe Come Clarity maintain metalcore from Soundtrack to Your Escape, but I did happen to like Come Clarity, which I just finished listen to. Whoracle style is Melodic Death Metal.
Give it a listen and see what you think. While Clayman still remain my favorite In Flames album, Come Clarity was pretty good.
Big metal fan here though the band i have been listeing the most lately is Death Angel. When i am not listening to metal its anime music all the way!
Looks like it's metal FTW. I'll listen to pretty much anything, but the majority of the music I own (and so listen to the most) is metal.
Right now, the bands getting the most playtime for me are Dream Theater and After Forever. I'm pretty hooked on Trans-Siberian Orchestra too, I love "Beethoven's Last Night".
All time favorite band for me is PZYCHOBITCH.
Check out the cover of their MASTER OF MYSELF EP.

Green Day, Lee Harding (Aussie Idol 3rd place, you prolly haven't heard of him unless you are called Hawkeye and saw me supporting him on Astrogate), anything punk rock except Simple Plan because they are a sad excuse for a pop band even :l They suck
13 January 2006, 12:01 AM
its strange, everyone seems to hate Simple Plan, yet they are so popular. must be all the fangirls.
as for In Flames, unfortunately i have not got or heard Clayman.
Metal FTW!!!
another band i highly reccomend is Gwar! i love this band!
I Killed The Prom Queen.
Listen to almost anything from classical to metal depending on my mood, although some music I can't listen to. Currently a fan of Faithless, Engima, Nightwish, Interpol and Sleater Kinney, and was getting into The Pixies before I lost their music. Not quite sure what categories you'd put those bands in.
Just because it's in the thesaurus doesn't mean it's a good idea.
And why isn't 'dethesaurisation' in the dictionary?

Well it seems I'm the most different when it comes to music. I listen to a lot of mainstream stuff (you know pop/rnb) but that doesn't mean I don't like some rock and acoustic/piano music. Before you guys go thinking I'm the type who's into Eminem, 50 Cent etc I'd like to say that I'm not a fan of rap and I don't like any music from the rappers above.
What I listen to mostly are like I said before pop/rnb lol, I kinda get annoyed at people thinking the stereotypical anime fan would listen to just rock or heavy metal music.
As for favourite artists? You're probably gonna laugh at this but I find myself listening to alot of songs from Janet Jackson XD. Yes even after the infamous "nipple-gate" incident at the superbowl I still like her music, specially that All Nite (Don't Stop) track. So there I guess my favourite artist is Janet Jackson (and maybe Craig David lol).
I do listen to a lot of music, but I cant pick a favorite artist.
My favorite TYPE of music is electroinca/dance/trance (damn subgenres!!)
I guess my 2nd fav type of music is Country. Why? Because I grew up listening to it, and its just a part of my life. Besides, it makes good road music for when I travel.
I'll listen to just about anything though, and yes that does include rap, because thier are some songs that have a good beat.
Im not really a huge fan of rock, but I will listen to a little.

I tend to dislike rap, mainly because I can't understand lyrics and the lyrics that I do understand are oftentimes disappointingly...unoriginal. I suppose a lot of the good stuff is in the beat, but I'm usually not dancing while I sit at my computer doing work or posting on this forum so...yeah.
I can listen to anything except like heavy metal and enjoy it. That said there aren't a lot of artists that I like all or most of the songs of -- usually I'll just like one or two of them, and they go in my playlist. Kind of like Lenny Kravitz, Oasis, John Mayer (a few of his songs anyways), and KT Tunstall.
La.
Right now I'm really into old school Counting Crows and Rage Against the Machine, as well as some classical pop like Bond and Vanessa Mae.
I had always considered getting a last.fm account but never actually bothered with it. It was the same with Audioscrobbler.
mine is http://www.last.fm/user/AkkA/
i notice some metal in there Niner, Ill Nino. i also notice there is a spelling error in your track name XD Who can i live. it should be How can i live.
I Killed The Prom Queen.
I have a somewhat eclectic taste in music. Currently though Smashing Pumpkins, Death Cab for Cutie, Interpol, Jeff Buckley and Ryan Adams have been playing on rotation on my playlist.
Niner I like the picture on your last.fm account.

My favorite artists are The Beatles, Paul Simon, Maroon5 and definitely Bob Dylan. I also really love Radiohead and George Harrison as a solo artist (Old Brown Shoe is probably my favorite Beatles song. <3)
But right now I'm listening to Howard Stern on Sirius radio...
The last concert I went to was actually Ashlee Simpson at the State on Nov ... something. And yes, I am an Ashlee Simpson fan, haha.

LOL, well actually I do like her song "La La" from her first album and the music clip for it was hilarious to watch, her 2nd album isn't that bad really. There's a few good tracks on there such as "In Another Life" and "Dancing Alone" and a great ballad track "Say Goodbye". The only thing I can't ever seem to forget about her is that whole SNL lip-synching mishap. But like Janet's nipple-gate incident, I don't hold a grudge against her about it. Initially I thought she was riding on her sister's fame but listening to her music, it's actually alright.
I'm hooked to Rhapsody's music right now XD

It's time to go back to the past with a little Canadian Rock, ala "Rush"

Currently, I'm really liking Eve 6, who unfortunly broke up a few years back and are bloody hard to find in Australia (I had to go to Queensland to get one of thier albums). Their first LP, Eleventeen, is available to download free here and various other sites.

Metal for the F-ing win!
Very much into the loud music, the kind with allot of screaming, ear splitting shrieks of melody and harmonic audio carnage? simply put is metal in a nutshell.
Metal bands come and go for me but a few I enjoy are: Dry kill logic, Mudvayne (their old stuff), slaves on dope, The Shizit militia, schizoid, f-noise, Motograter, factory 81, soulfly, down the sun and schizoid are a few that come off the top of my head.
Some bands like schizoid and f-noise share their material worldwide at http://dtrashrecords.com/
You?ll find some shizit militia although its all remixed by different artist?s and I personally think the original audio is allot heavier
Just my two cents on the metal community
Some people dream of success, while people like me live to crush those dreams
Battle Royale: volume 11. Surviving contestants: 7 and counting?
