Well after over 5 years of searching I finally have gotten a hold of a sexy little bottle named Absinthe



Yep she's a beauty! 85% Alcohol (Yea baby!), banned in the US, and with all the Thujone thats legal here in Australia!!

Before I crack her open I was just wondering if anyone else has tried this drink, or any other "extreme" booze!?

Yeah, they sell it in japan, don't really like it because the black licorice flavor gets to me after a while. not really a fan. I've tried QA tested 92% Tequilla before, let me tell you what, I wasn't able to walk home. The thai's really know how to party.

Apparently you can get a 95% Chartreuse, Im yet to find it but sure it exists. Luckily the dude I work for owns a bottle shop so it comes in handy.

If it's 95% alcohol why would you even buy it? Why not just by the pure ethyl alcohol, and mix it with some of the less concentrated version after you've done the necessary calculations? Presumably it's the same thing.

Kiai I was told that important advice by a Sergeant Major and I took it too heart, really I don't see why people drink to get drunk.. I drink to socialise and that doesn't work if you drink more then your body can take...

sure, but 95% chartreuse can be made using a less concentrated mix and throwing in some pure alcohol to get the same effect.

Ive never been drunk or even drank that much ever despite the fact ive been to partys which have lots of alcohol. I dont like the taste that much i prefer things like J2O. Drinking to forget things dosnt solve the problems.

For something the only thing that can get me completely drunk is about 12 Long Island Ice Teas...

I can drink about 50 pints of Stella, and it'll do nothing...

pour absinthe over sugar in a slotted spoon and sip.

the last time i had it i did four straight shots with no chaser and therefore ended up having to conclude that shit is a nightmare in a bottle...potentially =)
