We know that RahXephon uses music alot to either drive the series plot or add depth to it but what are your opinions about it?
Personally, many of the background music in the series felt kind of jazzy but they had some great piano pieces like "Solitaire" to give the series a moody feel as well. "Katun no Sadame" had an interesting and catchy intro and beat but I didn't really like the singing in it though. "Yume no Tamago" was kind of hard to listen to at first but once you get into the series, it becomes easier. It has a sort of haunting feel from that song.
This brings me to another question, have any of you guys bought the OST? (lol or got it off the net?) One thing I'm pissed about the OST's was that NONE of them contained the flute/recorder version of "Yume no Tamago" (it was played a number of times throughout the series but I think it can be best remembered in episode 3 where Ayato is on the bicycle with Haruka sitting at the back). That piece to me was the best musical highlight from the series but it's sad to see that it wasn't added onto any of the OST's and they had 3 chances to put it on (4 if you count the OST for the movie). The closest one similar to that version of Yume no Tamago is a track called "Second Sorrow" but I can't remember on which OST it was on. I've only bought the single for the opening theme "Hemisphere" so far, you can see my review of it on the main website or in the News & Updates forum but maybe sometime in the future I'll buy the soundtracks.
