G4 TV showed the Rah TV series a few months ago and I loved this show. Really, really well made and well thought out. I had to go rent the movie right after the series was over and found the movie pretty well done also, though not as detailed or fluid as the TV series. Its hard to compress 26 24 minute complex episodes into two hours.
What did you guys think?

Impossible is Nothing to an Anime Engineer!
Absolutely, totally loved it. Ended up importing the second half of the series because I was too impatient to wait for local releases. Had some great discussions with other people who were watching the series, literally for hours, discussing all of our theories and notions. As well as the great music, visuals and concept, it was complex enough to actually make me think about the plot instead of just watching and absorbing.
Just because it's in the thesaurus doesn't mean it's a good idea.
And why isn't 'dethesaurisation' in the dictionary?
What can i say brilliant it was everything i hoped it was but only better. Though i wish more people would enjoy it for what it is instead of comparing to it Evangelion....
You can compare it to Evangelion in many many aspect, but that doesn't mean that it's worse than Eva, in fact I love Eva and RahX equally.
You've read it! You can't unread it!
Evangelion - rooted in Christian/Jewish mythology.
RahXephon - draws heavily on Mayan influences.
Series 1, Series 2, and hopefully "ne'er the twain shall meet". Apart from giant robots and imminent doom, what's to compare?

Well, there is that whole "evil parents forcing their children into their mad schemes" aspect to both series.
Speaking of that, I need to go tweak the giant robot in my back yard. My kids grew a couple of inches this past year. XP

Great series overall and good music in the series as well. The first time I got to see this was just episode 1 on a Madman anime sampler disc, and you guys would know episode 1 doesn't explain much which got the best of my curiosity to buying the first volume of the series. I would've rented it but my local VideoEzy didn't have it.
The dub was actually pretty good to be honest, particularly Itsuki's voice actor. He sounded really sly yet kinda creepy at times.
I enjoyed it greatly, even bought it on DVD, but I was dissapointed in it's similarties to NGE. It's a great series but it didnt feel as original as it should have. The music and animation was really awesome and the dub was good most of the time, now and then I didnt like it though. Overall it was really good, but was too much like NGE for my tastes.
