It's coming! The first side scrolling Mario game since Super Mario World on the SNES is about to arrive and I so can't wait! The game characters are all in 3D but will play exactly like the original Mario games, there will also be a tonne of surprises in the game including mushrooms that can transform Mario into a giant and mushrooms that can shrink Mario down to tiny size.

All of the old bad guys will be there including Goombas and Koopa Troopers and Lakitu, but there will be new enemies too including Koopa Troopers with Blue Shells. You can jump on the Blue Koopa Troopers to knock them out of their shell and then jump inside the shell and use it to slide into enemies Big Grin

Of course Bowser is back and so is his family.

This game will feature 80+ levels and has a co-op mode where Mario and Luigi can play on the same level at the same time and will co-operate and compete for coins at the same time Big Grin

There is also mention of mini games like the ones found in Mario 64 DS.

For those of you who don't know exactly how big this game is compared to other sidescrolling Mario games here's the list...

Super Mario Bros. has 32 levels all up.
Super Mario Bros. 2 has 20 levels.
Super Mario Bros. 2 Japan (Lost Levels) has 40 levels.
Super Mario Bros. 3 has 90 levels, not counting the Hammer Bros. encounters.
Super Mario World has 72 levels.
Super Mario World 2 Yoshi's Island had 54 levels, the GBA version had 6 more.
Super Princess Peach has 48 levels from what I know.

I'm betting New Super Mario Bros. has secret levels too Big Grin

I love how people criticise Nintendo for being being different, for trying to bring innovation while others simply give the people what they are already used to. And now there's New Super Mario Bros. A game that really isn't innovative at all and is giving people what they've wanted for a long time, a traditional Mario platformer and what am I seeing people do? Complain that it's not innovative.

I bought this, and havnt stop playing it... It's soo addictive!

I love Nintendo... I really do, but is it my fault if Microsoft keep pulling me back to their next gen RPGs and FPS's?

I completed NSMB 100% aaages ago not long after I bought it XD I think it was way too easy... but it was still fun Stick Out Tongue
