Plot Summary: High school delinquent Seiji Sawamura is desperate to have a girlfriend, especially after being rejected by 20 girls as of late. He's afraid that he will end his life with his right hand as his only companion. Apparently, that doesn't change when one day when he wakes up and discovers that his right hand has become a girl named Midori Kasugano, who confesses that she has had a crush on him for the last three years.
Having watched this series back awhile ago, I thought I might create a thread on this series as there are a few who have also seen or is currently watching this where we can discuss about the series.
I first got a look of this series at my anime club during a screening of the 2nd episode and was curious enough to check it out. My first impression of this was that it gonna be a lot of fluff and romance but by episode 3 it changed. What I liked about this were the characters that drove the story and didn't solely rely on comic reliefs and wacky humor (though it does really add to the comedy value). The story may be a bit awkward as it never really explains why Midori becomes Seiji's right hand but once you get over that it doesn't really matter about the "why" but more about "when" of Midori's & Seiji's relationship development. The other characters added some good laughs to the series, I really liked Takamizawa's character although he may be a bit weird/obsessed with puppets lol.
Good - The overall plot and characters of the series, that's not to mention the added bonus of the humor of the series. The episode where Takamizawa brings Seiji to an anime convention was a highlight for me.
Bad - There's not really anything bad about the series, the only thing I have to pick on is that the story could've expanded into a 24/26 episode series as I felt it ended quite abruptly being a 13 ep series. But then again perhaps because it is a short series, it's probably what made it short and sweet and not too draggy.
I'm still waiting for the final volume of the series to be released - which won't be out until February in Australia - but in the meantime I can happily read the manga version which was released shortly after the anime series finished airing in Japan. So others who have seen or is currently watching this series, what are your opinions on Midori no Hibi? The good, the bad points of it?
