@Black: It seems Darky mostly has CDs compared to DVDs XD
Is this right Darky?
1500 Post XD
Before Hawk got that many on this incarnation to XD
When I first started collecting, I had more anime DVD's of course but now it hugely outnumbers my DVD collection and if you think my anime CD collection is big...I can tell you my CD collection of non-anime music is even bigger lol. I guess it's because I'm a music-obsessed person XD.
Can you play any instruments/make music also?
can you darky or do you just like to sit and listen ^^
No, apparently I can't really play any instruments. I had classes on learning how to play the keyboard back in school but it was boring and I wasn't that interested in it. I do sing along with any songs that I like where I know most, if not all, of the lyrics. The only person on C3F who has heard my singing voice is The Wolf and you're never gonna hear it XD.
Just a did COMPLETE update on all the anime CD's I currently have in the first post on the first page. Typing it all out made me see just how big it's grown from my small collection about a year ago.
Nice big collection Darky =P
Whee! My latest batch of anime CD's I've bought over the past year and have kept in storage at the deputy service's facility I use was delivered yesterday. I wasn't expecting it to come that early since the online tracking of the parcel said it'd arrive on Thursday, either way I'm happy. Pics below XD.
A random Scramble Wars cel I decided to bid on and won lol.
And finally...a 210 set sheet of character, mecha and background sketches and designs of A.D. Police TV. I know Lynk would be looking forward to seeing scans of this one XD.
Updated my list on the front page awhile ago but it's up to date of all the anime CD's and other random things I own.
I still dont own any released music CDs XD
you're not alone chim, you're not alone.
Are those Fate/Stay Night CD's???
Sweet ^____^

here are all my Fate/Stay Night CD's I own so far lol. Three of them are doujin arrange albums (professional fan made CD's).
I've also recently won two more off Yahoo Japan Auctions. One is a special collaboration CD single between Illya & Taiga, you had to buy all 8 first press CD of the character image singles to get all the vouchers before sending it in to Geneon and then they would send you it. The other CD is a Fate/Stay Tune internet radio drama featuring Saber's side. Only 1000 of these were made and was only sold at the Comiket convention in Japan. There's another one that features Rin's side but I've yet to get that.

So it sounds like we have found the worlds greatest Fate/Stay Night fan, eh?

I updated my list, but forgot my Haruhi and Lucky star CDs. I'll fix it later.
So, darktruth... anything new and exciting since your last update? You've definitely built up an impressive collection since I was last here.
I'd especially love to add some (okay, all) of those BGC and ADP discs you have, but I'm such a cheapskate. I'm used to paying less than what people pay for bootlegs for my OST's.
btw, you mentioned you used a deputy service when buying off of Yahoo Japan Auctions. Would you mind telling me which one? I found an auction that I'm seriously thinking about bidding on and you seem happy with the one you're using, so I'd like to check them out.
Haven't really bought anything new for my collection since I spent the last few months saving up money to get my new computer. To be honest, there really isn't much soundtracks or singles I'm interested in getting lately.
The deputy service I'm using is Shopping Mall Japan since their fees and commissions aren't too high compared to others plus they're quite fast with replying to questions. I've had a good run with them for about 2 years now.

Thanks for the recommendation, I just finished making my account... but it looks like I might be a little late. The auction I was looking at only has 10 hours left (ends 8AM local time) and I'm not sure if my deposit will go through in time.
I guess we'll see how this works out. If it all goes well, I'll have some new CD's to add to my list up there. ...and if not, I'll just have to wait a little while longer to add them to my collection.
EDIT: Well, the auction ended before my deposit went through, but there were no bidders and it was re-listed as a buy-it-now auction. So, now I'm the happy winner of these;
All for the low, low price of 9600 Yen Now I just have to wait for my invoice and look around to see if there is anything else I'm interested in getting before I have my order shipped to me. I can only hope I don't get addicted to this.
I hope you do realize you have to also pay the separate shipping costs for SMJ to ship the items to you right? It's not part of the invoice of the total cost of the item as that's just the cost of paying and getting the items sent to their US storage facility.
Anyway, I assume you're going to start collecting more BGC soundtracks? XD, It was very addicting when I first started using SMJ to get those rare Scramble Wars soundtracks which eventually led to searching for many other anime soundtracks and singles. I got some pretty good deals such as getting all 5 volumes of the Chobits drama cd for just 2500 yen (around $40 with fees and commissions in total) when one of those alone cost around $40-$50 on ebay or US sites.
Nowadays I'm just browsing there for rare and out of print soundtracks or singles from animes I like.
Just a note: maybe it's a collectors mind but I always tend to look for soundtracks or singles that comes with its original obi-strip (those strips you find on the spine of Japanese jewel case CD's). They can end up adding much more value to the items they're packed in and usually contain a summary or information about the item.
Another thing I also look out for is finding out if there is a first press edition of the cd I'm thinking of getting. They are released in very limited amounts that comes with some small extras. Sometimes it's a bonus DVD, a sticker, a mini poster etc. They're usually small extra goodies. There's a few BGC soundtracks that have first press editions (BGCrash! Soldier Blue drama CD, AD Police OST 1 and AD Police Takoyaki Western drama CD).
Yeah, I understand I have the pay for shipping twice, plus their commisions and potentially customs fees. Even after all that though, the price I'm paying is great compared to what these things go for on ebay in the US. Average price is usually about $40-$50 each with Obi strips, I'm guessing maybe $10 less for copies without the Obi? I'm not sure how much value that really takes away.
I know what you mean about the collector's mentality too, I'm like that when I buy DVDs. At the moment though, I'm not that concerned with tracking down 100% complete copies of import CDs. As long as I get the case, booklet and disc and they're all in good condition, I'll be happy for now. If I really get into collecting, I can always search out stuff in better condition later and sell my incomplete copies.
This auction was also nice for me since it's my first auction using a deputy service and I'll be saving quite a bit of money since it's only one auction and I'll only have to pay all of their fees once.
*drools* soooo much BGC stuff, i want! i want!
but i don't have the money for it TT_TT
It's not just about money with the stuff Darky has maybe XP Some of that stuff is quite rare i think XD

yeah, your pretty much right, some or most of it is rare
i might surf the net and see if i can dig anything else up
My latest anime CD (with some DVD) updates XD.
From left to right they are Shana II original Japanese DVD vol 6, Shana OVA original Japanese DVD, Dengenki Bunko Drama Disk, Shana II special drama cd (not available commercially) and finally Shana II original Japanese soundtrack.
Two exclusive Fate/Stay Night CD's. The first is an internet radio drama disk only sold at the Comiket convention which features Saber.
The second CD is an exclusive collaboration song effort between the Japanese VA's of Illya and Taiga.
You could only get this via a redemption voucher by collecting all 8 "first press" character image singles and sending it to Geneon (kinda like how Madman did the Haruhi Redemption Campaign for the broadcast order DVD). You had to have a residential address in Japan for them to send it to you as well so most oversea buyers couldn't really use the vouchers and those were only available on the first press editions which were released in limited quantities.
What is the rarest/most hard to get item you have Darky?
That's a pretty good question... those last CDs posted sound pretty rare. But then, so are the ADP TV soundtracks.
I added some new stuff to my collection. Half pack-ins, half Geneon clearance stuff.
Ai Yori Aoshi: Sakura OST
Para Para Mix US Mix 1
Para Para Mix US Mix 2
Para Para Mix US Mix 3
Lucky Star - Motteke Sailor Fuku Single
Lucky Star - Ending Theme Collection CD
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - Hare Hare Yukai Single
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - Bouken Desho Desho Single
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - Haruhi character CD
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - Haruhi No Tsumewawase Single
I'd have to say the ADP TV ending theme CD single "Toki no Nakade" would be the rarest and hard to get (though I do have TWO copies of it XD). I once saw it go for 10,000 yen on Yahoo Japan Auctions after I had got my copy.
I wonder if I should start collecting CD's from Haruhi since I've got the DVD boxset of the anime along with the broadcast order DVD XD. For some reason I'm not that interested in it though lol.
Oh and my latest CD I won off YJA XD:
Sola - Mellow Melody ED CD Single (first press edition)
I'd also buy it off of you if I could.
You've read it! You can't unread it!
