yeah so i am having 2 1gb sticks of ram shipped to me via next day delivery. lol i got star wars galaxies up and running but without 1 gig, it lags and i can't tolerate that...
isnt that star wars game kind of like world of warcraft?
They're both MMORPGs, but besides that not really.
playing Viking battle for Asagrd, and preordered mario kart wii ^.^
Playing Fire Emblem Path of Radiance since Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn is coming out in 5 days... and I'll be getting Mario Kart Wii when it comes out on April 24 down here. Since it's an online game, I know i'll be racing against you C3Fers in no time

i wouldnt compare it to WoW...i didn't care for that game. (it just wasnt as fun for me as swg) it is a star wars mmorpg though.
Pikmin!!

thats what i was looking for, MMORPG, i keep forgetting xD
@Lynk: A Wii Pikmin game would be even more fun? XP
I played Pikmin a little ages ago i think XD
I just played more SSBM recently XD
I sooooooooo want Pikmin 3 on Wii!
I played through Pikmin and now I'm onto Pikmin 2...

i played pikmin once and i couldnt stand it, i love SSBM though, but i really wanna play Brawl
Psh, that's cause you can't appreciate a good non-cliché RTS
But anywayz, what was so bad about it? Just curious.

:S if you really must know, :O when i played it, it felt a bit childish to me, kind of like it was made for little kids, plus i just couldnt get into that kind of game, it's just not me, im more suited to beat-em-up', FPS, RPG's and racing cars kind of stuff xD
although, someone told me that pikmin sold quite well
Oh yeah, I should've expected you to be that kind of gamer since they're pretty common.
Well, it may seem childish, but that's just Shigeru Miyamoto's style. He's never liked the realistic approach to gaming, he's like a cartoonist in his own way so anything he comes up with will have a very unrealistic, innocent and "childish" feel about it. But then that's what people love about his games and he's very insistent on it.
Back in the days of the Super Nintendo, Rare had released Donkey Kong Country and the critics wanted him to make a game that was equally "realistic" (back then that's how they viewed it)... Miyamoto refused to do this and instead did the exact opposite of what the critics wanted him to do and created Yoshi's Island... a game that is entirely "childish" where the graphics look like they've been drawn on with crayons... and that was one hell of a brilliant game and one of the best Mario games EVER. It certainly shut up the critics XD
That said, I don't think a little kid, unless they're pretty damn clever, could really play a game like Pikmin since they'd find it too hard and get impatient with it too easily. In fact, from my experience, kids seem to hate Pikmin because THEY think it's childish. On the other hand, a lot of adults I know love it because it's creative, challenging and really gets them thinking about how to manage the Pikmin to do all those tasks at the same time.
And yes, Pikmin did very well and people are screaming for Pikmin 3 on Wii.

SWG with my 2 gigabytes of ram just installed. IT ROCKS!!!!
i need to get another 2 GB of ram, ive already got 2 GB in my system, but i want more, because i do run some intensive 3D applications, which most of the time bumps my mem usage up to about %58 percent.
You run them and it can make it use about 58% of your RAM? I don't think you need to get anouther 2 GB maybe XD
Finished Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn... got a week to wait till Mario Kart Wii comes out so I'll try to finish off some other games...
You've read it! You can't unread it!
trust me chim, i dont think it's enough, when i am booting my computer, it uses about 68% of my ram then idles at about 32% rather than the usual 28%.
hmm, while were on the subject im playing waaay to many games right now, i guess i love my emulation a bit too much xD
It sounds as if you've got a lot of unneccessary programs running kin... or worse.
You've read it! You can't unread it!
Lol after startup then running MSN and Firefox my comp is using about 69% right now =P I have 480 MB RAM the other 32 MB is being used for graphics XD
Kin uses Vista though i think =P
Yes, you are correct Chim, im using vista, when MSN and Xfire show up i close them off right away as well as AVG
@ Lynk: ive done 3 complete virus scans and found nothing, ive cleaned out every bit of spyware (using Ad-Aware) and done a check with SpyBot s&d, and ive cleaned them out but it still idles at %30, and it used to idle at %26, i think it could be the sound editing programs that i have installed
If you end AVG from the icon there are probibly still several AVG processes running =P
Why dont you just disable run on startup for MSN and XFire? XD
hmm, ill see if i can, i just hope Vista doesnt start being nasty if i do so xD
you're too concerned about ram usage, my system is always with 98% of the ram in use, because ubuntu makes use of the unused ram for pre-load stuff, I wouldn't be surprised if Vista did something similar and kept stuff in memory. Unless you notice slowdowns a ram upgrade isn't big deal if you only use half of it.

good point, uhh, i dont think vista does the same thing but i can check, and isnt unbutu more for media centre PC's?
Ubuntu is a linux distribution for desktop computers and servers, it doesn't have any specific purpose other than be an OS, it probably keeps track of the apps that I usually use and pre-loads them in the unused chunk of memory so they start faster later.

Been playing a lot of Mario Kart Wii lately... *sighs* I just wish I had a little more luck. I have the skill, but this is Mario Kart, not Gran Turismo, so skill means jack all if you keep being hit by a barrage of items all the time.

I take the CPU close the gap between you and themselves in a short amount of time?
I'm currently playing Persona 3: FES and Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness. Power leveling in Disgaea is tedious, but much easier when you mute the game while power leveling and watching TV. I recently finished Soul Nomad, but I need to go back to Soul Nomad and get Asagi and the other two optional characters that can join my party.
Eva Wrote:I take the CPU close the gap between you and themselves in a short amount of time? The CPU players killinate you with items... first it's a blue shell, which is harder to avoid in MKWii, then before you can recover some other CPU player hits you with a red shell, then another one hits you as a bullet bill which sends you flying off of the track... by now you're in 8th position... but it gets worse, because they guy behind you has a lightning bolt and you're zapped, but the guy behind him has already used his super star and knocks you off of the track again and now you're either coming 10th, 11th or 12th depending on how far back the last karts are.
Sure, you can claw your way back to first place, provided this all happened on the first lap or even the second lap if the track is long enough, but if it's the last lap, you've got no hope of scoring first place and will probably only make it to 5th place if you're lucky.
The worst part is that while the CPU karts seem to get all those sweet items, you don't... I mean, they get bullet bills and pow boxes and everything all the time... but when I get knocked to the back, the only thing I manage to get are gold mushrooms or three mushrooms... which on some courses, going at 150cc where you need to do a lot of power sliding or risk being sent flying off the track is NOT helpful.
...This kind of thing happens constantly in 150cc and it's very hard to avoid it which is why it's based on luck because sometimes the CPU players never seem to get to use the more devastating items against you which start this horrible chain reaction in the first place.
@ Chim: Blue Shell's can't be blocked by banana's. They fly and they drop right on top of you and EXPLODE.

TAGAP: The Apocalyptic Game About Penguins
Meet Pablo, a Penguin with dual wield Uzies. (gah, grammar?)
And no, is not a Linux game, WinXp and free download, fun and has nice soundtrack.

i might muck around with that for a while, thanks for providing the link Mav
Lynk's description of Mario Kart Wii is dead-on accurate. It's hella fun, but it's also by far one of the most frustrating games I've ever played (I suck at driving games to begin with, so I'm not the best judge, but I've had it confirmed by many others now that it's not just me)
I'm still playing LoZ: Majora's Mask, this game is such a pain in the ass but I feel obligated to keep going, haha. (thanks a lot, lynk =P)
When I stop being tightfisted I'll be picking up RE4Wii, tho, and maybe World Ends With You.
i saw a gameplay video of The World Ends With You, it looks really good, wonder how long the game is though....
Forgot to mention I'm also playing The New Super Mario Bros. for DS...never finished it. It's a crafty little game, and in terms of gameplay it's exactly what games like Drawn To Life aspire to but never quite reach.
@kinetik, I can't comment on the length, my friends who are playing it haven't finished it yet
hmm ok, im guessing it would be pretty long knowing what square enix is like, i saw a review on it, you gotta manage both screens at the same time to my understanding, which would make for a steep learning curve meybe

Why did you keep it in the disc box for so long? >_>
