Okay, I've been writing a Manga story for about a year now. Currently it's written in standard novel format (left-right, no images), but it was originally supposed to be written as a Manga Graphic Novel (right-left format).

The main problem I have is I'm not sure how exactly I do it... Can any body direct me to a tutorial or give me any advice?

But seriously, I don't know of any particular "how-to's" on drawing manga the Japanese way. I'd be willing to be that there are books in your local library that could show you though.

I have an idea for a... graphic scroll novel that was based mostly on images rather than text which I want to make using flash.... but I don't want to tell you guys any more than that cause I don't want people to steal my ideas XD

So write it out in script format, if anyone is interested enough to invest in it that way if anyone takes from it, it's plagerism.

I know he did Gunsmith Cats (which I've never seen/read) and BGC 2032. I thought you meant how he creates a manga.

BTW, BGC 2032 is what got me into anime/manga.

why right-left format? mangas are like that because they are done by Japanese people, they like to write in odd directions. You should use the format you're most comfortable with, there's no point in making a difficult task more difficult.

Actually, I feel more comfortable with right-left. And I seem to have a gift for Japanese. (I feel more comfortable with anything Japanese)

I have been practicing in preparation for drawing a full comic/manga/whatever for quite some time now, and as I've been working, the following two books have proven really useful for me.

How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way (Paperback):

Despite the title, it's a very good primer on how to get the basics of sequential art done and done right. It was written during the peak of Marvel, I think, and they do a great job of simple and easy-to-understand art and layout. This is a good place to start before moving onto more complex concepts in comic layout and planning.

Will Eisner was a master of the form, and this is a scholarly analysis of how comics work, and how they can be made to work. I think you should read this one after the first, as it is pretty complex and can be hard to work through as a result.

And personally, I've found that the most important thing I can do is draw all the layout on scrap paper before doing anything to the full pages. This lets me re-arrange and redesign panels until I'm content with the layout and look. It also helps me to visualize the scene, which makes it easier to draw things and have them look alright, especially in the detail department.
