Nice little thing, a friend down Epsom has an Airsoft one and talk about over kill
I just wish I could get my hands on that new Navy Work uniform it's much better suited to the underground darkness of the tunnels over the Marpat Woodlands I 've been using, the colours blends so much better into the bed rock.
But the trouble is that the Navy and Airforce digi uniform arn't replicated or worth being sold on Ebay *shakes fists in the Air*

Is that last weapon an M203 grenade launcher? Those are awesome!
On another military topic, one battle tank that fascinates me is the British Challenger tank. I prefer its design over the American M1 Abrams tank.
So in Resident Evil 4, I'm playing through hard mode and I have the following weapons...
Red9 (Mauser C96) + Stock
Striker (DAO-12)
Broken Butterfly (Schofield Model 3)
Semi-auto Rifle (Heckler & Koch SL8) + Scope
And I'd usually ignore this one, but I've never actually gone through the game with it and thought it'd be fun to try it out...
TMP (Steyr TMP) + Stock
You've read it! You can't unread it!
Falcon's definitly Shinji from fmp alright XD nice weapons lynk

That looks spookily like the one they keep leaving parked outside the student union
Just because it's in the thesaurus doesn't mean it's a good idea.
And why isn't 'dethesaurisation' in the dictionary?
Which Challenger Tank? The Original or the remake?

You're a nut, as my dad used to say. XD
Anyway, here's some more interesting info on what the Challenger II has for defense.
Quote:Defence
The Challenger 2 is one of the most heavily armoured and best protected tanks in the world. The turret and hull are protected with second generation Chobham armour (also known as Dorchester) the details of which are still classified. Explosive Reactive Armour (ERA) kits are also fitted as necessary. The nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) protection system is located in the turret bustle. On each side of the turret are five L8 smoke grenade dischargers. Challenger 2 can also create smoke by injecting diesel fuel into the exhaust manifolds.
I like the Merkava's design, it's almost like the concept was taken from a videogame :P
Military Intelligence are two contradictory words
smoking as in Smoke screen

Smoke screens are a very effective tactic when you want to hide your troop movements from the enemy for a certain amount of time.
But if there are strong winds present, that's another story...
Tell me about it.... Last time I went Airsofting at Armherst, The smoke screen I launch hid the enemy rather then Us when we attacked them.... Damn Wind had to change right then

Yeah, smokescreens are one of those tactics that requires the full and complete cooperation of mother nature in order to work successfully.

now i'd be lieing if i didnt see it in popular science, but there is a design for ultra high resolution LCD/plasma (forgot which) screens that are able to have 'joints' that are seemless.
so in this case, in let's say hiding a division of tanks....

Falcon_06 Wrote:Carbine? Interesting...
I've heard the term, "carbine" before, but I never knew that the M4 was a carbine. I thought that it was a conventional rifle.
According to Wikipedia, a carbine, by definition, is a "light, short-barreled rifle." Although, I think that a carbine is designed for combat at a closer range in comparison to a conventional rifle. I guess a little explanation is in order. Rifle originally referred to rifling the barrel, as opposed to a smoothbore musket. Rifling helped to stabilize the bullet improving long range accuracy, at the expense of being a bigger pain in the butt to load and clean, at least until the development of the so called Minie ball, and eventually breach loading rifles like the Martin-Henrys the British were using at the Battle of Islandlwana.
The definition you're thinking of is basically Cooper's. Cooper made a distinction between things like a AR-15 or Model 94 Winchester, and what he considered true rifles based on the range they were meant to be used at. By his deifinition true rifles were basically bolt actions, while assault rifles fell under carbines. He made the distinction, because they serve very different roles.
In common vernacular it however refers to barrel length. A carbine has a shorter barrel length then standard to increase handiness at the expense of muzzle velocity. Currently that's considered to be around the legal limit established by the National Firearms Act of 1934 at 16" for civilians.
