So the movie has finally been released worldwide. I've yet to see the film as I'm still arranging plans with a couple of friends to see it but I was wondering if anyone here has seen it already? What's your opinion on it?
I'm not sure what to expect from this film as the past few seasons of the TV series hasn't really been that interesting or even laughable for me. They've been on air for 20 years and they're definitely running out of ideas for good plots with the way I see it so I don't know how the movie will hold up. I've seen the trailers for it and it's not really making me laugh at all.
I dunno why but I've never been a big Simpsons fan, so I probably won't see the movie.
I have to agree with darky. The Simpsons lately...haven't even made me crack a smile. The first few seasons of the Simpsons were good, though.
Although, I'm not sure about 20 years. Are you sure that it's 20 years, dark?
I'm not sure, I'm just guessing they've been on air for 20 years (including the very early episodes that Matt Groening drew that aired on the Tracy Ullman show in the late 80's) because the promo spots on TV says the movie was 20 years in the making. I don't however believe it was actually 20 years in the making, more like 3-4 years.
The producers and Matt did however consider making a movie during the early seasons (they said so on their commentaries for certain episodes on the DVD boxsets) but it was put on the backburner for long time until it was picked up again in the early 2000's.
I prefer Futurama to The Simpsons but i dont watch either that much/often =P
I will probably see it. I don't know when, but I will.
I used to watch the Simpsons, but I stopped watching it a couple of years ago. I think they should have released this movie a couple of years ago.
The part where Homer flips everyone off then jumps in the sinkhole and gets stuck made me larf my ass off, but other than that one part it wasn't that great. The movie's worth a few chuckles, but if you're expecting it to be packed full of lulz you'll probably dissappointed.
I'm not gonna bother seeing it at the cinemas... I'll probably see it on DVD sometime, probably someone elses copy since I don't really see the need to buy it.
You've read it! You can't unread it!
I went to see it. Though, I didn't pay for it. I saw it after we went to see Transformers. :P
The movie was okay. It had it funny parts, but like it said before. I was getting old and this isn't gonna make much of a difference.

I've seen some bootlegged (illegally obtained) clips of this movie, and, so far, I might not even rent this movie when it comes out on DVD. Because, frankly, I'm not laughing that much.

I thought the simpsons was way older then that?

I went to see it awhile back. I was really bored at the time. It sucked. Waste of my time.
And the Simpsons started in 1989

It was pretty mediocre in my opinion.
It just doesn't fit in a movie format, I like the series a lot more.

After a crappy movie, I wonder when this series will finally die...
Edit: Which probably won't be anytime soon since so many people like the series. That is, assuming that the fans are what keep it alive... (pardon my grammar)

I think they don't have a clue HOW to end the series.. lol
