No what I mean is that the British Squaddy has to end up buying most of his own kit if he was a decent one, Body armour that isn't readly avalablie to front line services. Assualt rifles that to me can't stand up to the test of time.

In case you didn't know, the US, UK, and a few other governments are working on an advanced new fighter jet called the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter
(a.k.a. "Lightning II").




My question is, in your opinion, how well do you think the British Military will be able to handle and maintain this hi-tech fighter when it enters RAF and Royal Navy service?

I'm asking this out of curiosity, btw.

Yes I'm aware of the F35, on the whole...... I mostly weary of this, first off I'm not too sure about it being involded with the RAF. The Eurofighter is going to be the new Primry attack aircraft for the RAF in the next 20 years, Unless the Lighting have bombing capibilities I don't know if it ever go into RAF service.

The Royal fleet air arms is getting the F-35C for the two new British carriers that we're planning, which is good. Currently both of our Invincible-class carriers don't carry any fixed wing aircraft. Why do we still freaking have them then?

It going to cost us a fair mint to getting a new group of pilots trained when we don't have any flying any existing aircraft at this time, by 2011 any pilots we had trained are going to be well past the age requirements, so we're have alot of rookie flying.......
