I'm playing a turn-based Transformers game at http://www.transformersgame.com.

The gameplay, in my opinion, is an exact rip-off of Pokemon. You select an attack from a list of attacks, then strike.

The "Transformers" don't even Transform in the game.

But it is, nonetheless, still fun to kick other people's asses and listen to them bitch about losing. XD

I was just wondering why the hell it reminded me of pokemon.
I guess it's just because Pokemon on the Gameboy Color was the first turn based battle game that I ever played. XD

I bought LeafGreen as well, but I'm way too spoiled by Diamond to enjoy it atm. (although the touchscreen is underimplemented and the controls are generally clumsy)

Apparently there's a moratorium on Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire now, and FireRed is going permanently-out-of-stock?

That's one of the things people misunderstand about the DS. The touchscreen is a control option, not a control requirement. And how can teh controls be clumsy for a turn based rpg? XD

EDIT: Playing Mario Strikers Charged Football... holy crap did a Magicarp just roll onto the field just then? O.O

I guess I'm really just spoiled by the touchscreen implementation for my first DS game--FF3. The stylus is a lot more comfortable for me than using the buttons, especially for long periods of time.

And it's really the menu functionality that I'm complaining about...a prime example being that when you want to heal a pokemans with a potion/etc you can use the touchscreen to select the bag pocket, the item and what to do with it, then you are *forced* to use the buttons to select which creature you'd like to use the item on. It just doesn't make any sense. The inability to launch the menu from anything but a button is even more frustrating, let alone not being able to control character movement at all. The touchscreen is well-used during battle, but as soon as the battle ends the stylus goes away and it's back to buttons for 45 seconds until the next battle starts. Lather, rinse, repeat.

And don't even get me started on the fumbling clumsiness of the Pokemans Storage System. There are like 9 different ways (overall) to view the stats, etc. of your creatures but they couldn't find a way to simplify the organization and selection process so it could be done with a stylus?

Actually the menu was designed so you use your thumb or finger... not the stylus.

Plus the menu + storage system asshattery has been around since the first Pokemon XD lol.

Yeah, I realized the menu failure was universal once I started playing leafgreen XD

You get used to the storage system though, just use "Move"

My first game got erased when i dropped my DS while it was saving and the cartridge popped out >< and that game was at 90+ hours. This game is at about 63 hours and I'm past Pokemon League (highest pokemans level is 54 atm).

I thought I posted my friend code already? if not it's 4210 0868 1299 =) oh and i just grabbed Uxie...really easy for me (only five balls) but i know it was a struggle for others. I guess I got an easy out because Azelf was such a PITA

I'm playing a lot of games right now it seems. xD I'm still playing Diamond on DS, mostly just playing the 1337 4 to train my team. And then I've gotten back in to WoW these past couple weeks, playing my Blood Elf Paladin. And with the new Wii games I've gotten they should keep me busy for a while. I played all the minigames on Wii Play, I played a duel match on Mario Party, I played a round of golf against my bro on Tiger Woods, and I'm at the beginning of 1-3 on RE4.
