As some of you may or may not know, I have bought the entire series of M*A*S*H awhile back in a very nice set. The set included all 11 seasons of the TV series as well as the original movie. I've been a fan of the tv series for quite awhile and was wondering if anyone else in here is a fan. I do like the movie too but I love the series more

My dad was a fan of MASH, but not me really. I consider it a fore-runner to TV sitcoms, and I'm just not a fan of sitcoms at all.

M*A*S*H wasn't a sitcom.

Analog Wrote:My dad was a fan of MASH, but not me really. Yeah, same here. My dad watched the series when I was younger, but I never really got into it either. I just recently saw Klinger make a guest appearance on War at Home. I do like Jamie Farr, who played Klinger.

@ Chim: I meant that MASH wasn't a forerunner to sitcoms cause there were other shows on before and at the time that fit that profile a hellova lot more than MASH ever did.
@ Eva + Analog: It's strange, am I the only one of my generation who actually likes MASH? I mean I knew one other person, but that's about it. My parents are also fans of MASH and I have a few friends who understand why I like MASH....... I like the humour, it's dark and shameless but serious at the same time.

Dad got me into the MASH show. Love it, it's great humor, it's not that perverted funny or stupid funny like alot of modern shows, it dosent have lot of swearing and it's got very likable characters. you don't outright HATE anyone in the show. Great show IMO.

JOCULARITY! JOCULARITY! XD
There are some moments in the show where you laugh so much you're in tears, but other times the situation is so serious that you wonder how anyone could go through the horrifying situations depicted on screen, even if you don't actually see the actual war itself.

I'm pritty much the same as everyone else, My Dad loves the series and got the rest of the family into it
As Lynk said there are times when the characters can be merry and pulling a stunt that has you in stitches from laughter, then minutes later it gets serious.

yeah. War and the military, well, both are crazy. people who are in it have to try and find a way to keep them selves sane. usually found in humor.

I never saw M*A*S*H the series, but I saw the movie. The movie didn't make me laugh for some reason. Maybe its because I fast-forwarded through the whole thing.
