I finally decided to start a Stargate thread here, since the "Look at what
I got!!" thread has some stargate customers...
I heard that there will be two Direct-to-DVD movies coming out soon
after the conclusion of season 10.

And what about Season 11 of SG-1?
You've read it! You can't unread it!

Stargate SG-1 has been axed.
They announced days after airing the 200th episode (which is as funny as hell).

I thought it was just that SciFi channel wouldn't air it anymore... which doesn't necessarily mean it was axed by the creators.

SciFi claim to have some kind of rights to it or something and are trying to prevent anyone else from making it.
On the unsure plus side another series is being made

I thought their claim only went as far as airing it on TV, not creation rights... cause that belongs to Sony/MGM. Well either way, 10 seasons of SG-1 is great anywayz, they had some good stuff for season 9 but it's just not as good without Rick.

Yeah, the absence of Richard Dean Anderson is really killing SG-1. He was
a key part of the entire team. When he's gone, the ratings drop.
He is back for 5 episodes in season 10, though.
As for Atlantis, The third season will really bring about some
surprises (and I won't spoil any for you, so don't worry ),
but I will say this as best I can: In Atlantis Season 3, the Atlantis team encounters an enemy worse than the Wraith.

Indeed. although i was disappointed WAAAAY back when i actually saw the first few episodes of season 9 when Ben browder came in,...
... and then Claudia Black,...
WTF?
I mean i LOVE the hell out of farscape and stargate. and boht the actors and their parts. but frankly i dont like seeing them in stargate together. its,.. not right. in a way. cus you notice that Browder isnt really playing a different character half the time in stargate then in Farscape.
but Claudiadoing her role and it brings up too much of Farscape and....
Noooooooooooooooooooooo

They really added a new touch to the series didn't they?
I hated Vala at the beginning of Season 9 when she put the
bracelets on Daniel's wrist.
But she got what she deserved in "Avalon part 2". XD

lol.
i like claudia black. heck even the smal little part when she played in Pitch Black (yes she did, but briefly)
but in stargate, that character is just an eye sore. dont need those actors playing in the same series again.
if they should play a role again, it should be Farscape season 5.

For those with short memories, Vala first appeared halfway through Season 8.
It's your fault she's there. She turns up, gets good response, so they bring her back again for 6 episodes, where she again gets a good response, so they bring her back as a series regular due to positive fan response.
Unlike other shows the guys behind Stargate do listen to the fans.
BTW Vala is nothing like Aeryn. Mitchell on the other hand is Crichton.

I, like a few others I know, are insulted by that comment

As much as I want it to, never going to happen
And because I left it vague, I think is one of the better characters to introduced of late.

*kicks navy :P*

She's only in one episode, "Promethmus Unbound", but most of her background is in that episode.
Okay, so people, what's your favorite episode and why?

Didn't mean to insult you.
I just didn't like Vala at the beginning of season 9. Now, I've kind of come
to like her.
My favorite episode is uhhh...
Either "Ethon", "Camelot" or "Lost City Part 2".
Probably Lost City because that is one of THE best ways to conclude
a Season, or a series, maybe. I LOVE the Battle Over Antarctica!
Anubis: "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!" XD
Btw, has anyone ever noticed any similarities between Vala and Priss?
20 December 2006, 6:08 PM
Priss aiin't a Con Artist, now take that back....

I dont mind if it's canceled, I just want to see some kind of resolution. it seems to be the habit of American TV shows to go on for X seasons and just as they're about to conclude, bam, they're cancled. I seriously hate it. And with a show as good as Stargate, I want to see some sort of conclusion.
I can't believe they're doing a 3rd series though. WTF?

*gasp* you mean the EXACT same plot device they used for SG-1? *shock, suprise*
Gigantic Unilateral Numerous Dominating Ammuntion Fortress
"Transhumanism is about how technology will solve the problems inherent in the human condition. Cyberpunk is about how it won't."

Yes, a superior enemy appears that makes the previous enemy "look
like Tinkerbell" according to how an amazon.com reviewer described
SG-1's plotlines.

You talking about the Asurians?

Yes, they are replicators but they don't appear in the form
of tiny little bugs - they are people now. They were created by the
Ancients and the Ancients failed to destroy them. Plus, the Asurans
have Atlantis-like cities that can fly. So, yeah, they are going to
be a serious problem.
Dominion just gave me the oh Sh!t factor and Ark of Truth could be interesting. He's not going to survive
