That might be it. I remember the wing section being red and yellow. How old is this series? Because if its the one I saw it was during the early/mid eighties. Thanks for the pics.

AfterEdit: I got this off of Wiki: Jet Scrander: With the Jet Scrander, Mazinger Z is given the ability to fly, giving it a defense against aerial enemies. In order to dock with the Scrander, it is launched from a catapult in the Photonic Research Lab that Mazinger Z docks with in mid-air, with a command of "Scrander Cross!"

I have no idea who would have the old series available these days. Don't know if its made a DVD conversion or not.

I remember watching Mazinger and Grendizer around '80 or so. Seems like it was part of some "Giant Robot Hour" that used to come on TV back then. I used to draw those robots back in the day. Now my daughter likes to draw Naruto characters...

You might be right about there being a Giant Robot Hour back then. I remember when they canceled it. Sad day. I forget what channel it was, but from what I remember it wasn't on the regular stations. At the time I was watching this series it was like nothing I had ever seen before. Good times.

Oh dear....... My first anime was Howl's Moving Castle. THAT got me hooked!
I also have the original BOOK by Diana Wynne Jones.

I actually can't remember. I'll guess and say probably Robotech since it was syndicated in the US during the 80s.

that i initially saw was either speed racer or Transformers, as a kid growing up in the mid/late 80s transformers was the shit, but comes when i learned what anime was i got hooked on ghost in the shell

I'm not sure what my first Anime was, dunno if the old transformer series in the 80's count,
IF anything my real anime (on foxkids) would have been Tekkenman Blade/ teknoman.

I really got into anime and went looking for it, that would be when I got my hands on Akira and Neon Genesis evangelion
