Once I start working again and once I get paid (by the end of this month) I think I might have to get that game. It was only $35 CND last time I checked. Cheapest game available. Though, it may have been used. But, then somebody bought a Wii and that game while I was there.

oh yes. I was the first to get it at midnight in the store and I finished reading it this morning at 4:30. Took about 7 or 8 hours I think, spread out over the 2 days.

Really? I never liked the European covers, either the children or adult versions. I think Deathly Hallows has the best cover art out of any of the 7 books.

The people that got those books (earlier but legally, they paid for them) were forbidden to read them by some legal court (with the lobby of Rowling and publishers) until the release date or to return the book. link

I have heard of them and seen them. Although, I haven't been well- acquainted with what they can do.

*sigh* How am I going to say this without sounding like a complete dumbass? Hell, I'll just say it.

I was thinking of a world, beyond Blu-Ray and HD Multimedia, where the best way to purchase movies, games, and music would be to buy them as MP3 files online for your MP3 player such as an iPod or PSP.

In other words I was thinking digitally. Where all you need is access to the internet.

Firstly, mp3s can only output audio, not video. Also, everything is already digital and we already have systems where you can purchase movies as files that you can download to your PC or media devices, etc. What you're talking about has already existed, both legally and illegally for a long time now.

But there are reasons why these methods aren't very good. Firstly, hard drives only get so large, and we're moving into High Definition media which makes movies a lot larger to the point where they take up 20gigs of space. Having your movies on media discs allows people to handle and file their movies on a real world level, which most people prefer. It also allows you to have hundreds of gigs worth of movies without having to buy hard drives to store those hundreds of gigs worth of movies... and so on.

DVDs can only store around 8.5 to 9GB worth of data and you can only store standard or enhanced definition media on it.

Bluray can store 25, 50, 100+ GB worth of data and can play High Definition media upto 1080p which is the highest quality video you can get. Sound is also improved over DVD since you have so much space you can have uncompressed full surround audio on Bluray, yada, yada, yada...

And for those wondering why I didn't bother to mention HD-DVD, it's getting pretty obvious that HD-DVD won't be surviving very long.

There are actually quite a few types of discs that several different companies are experimenting on at the moment... in years to come we'll be seeing discs that hold terabytes of data...

I'd recommend getting it on DVD, Chim. 'Cuz the VHS will probably be pretty crappy in 20 years, or 10, or 5, depending on how many times you watch it. XD

I didn't keep myself updated, I always thought that the HD-DVD was most likely to win the format battle, what happened?

@ Chim: VHS is a magnetic storage device, it degrades even while it's being stored. Any kind of magnetic force around it can damage it in some way, etc. A VHS could theoretically survive for many years, the video on it, unless stored in premium conditions will still survive for many years, but the quality of the video will drop significantly.

DVDs do have an expiry date too, but the quality of the video on the discs stays exactly the same unless the disc has been scratched deeply or something. But if it has been kept in good condition, the video will be the same quality you bought it in because it's stored digitally and not magnetically.

@ Mav: More studios are supporting Bluray and certain video outlets are choosing Bluray over HD-DVD.

I knew what VHS magnetic storage because i read on wiki and that its just cheaper than other storage types or something XD

I'd have gotten the 2-Disc Special Edition, if the price of just the standard edition wasn't so cheap. Plus, I probably wouldn't have watched the special features anyways. I haven't even watched the special features for King Kong.



And I bought this off iTunes for $3.99 since I had a bunch of credit off iTunes to spend. I still have off $20 to spend.

I personally don't agree with Funimation producing DBZ in a widescreen format. I'd prefer to view it in its original 4:3 format. Plus they didn't do a very good job at cleaning it up. In terms of video quality and viewing it the way it was meant to be seen, the Japanese released Dragon Boxes are the way to go... but it's Japanese audio only and no subtitles so it's a problem.

The only nice thing about this release is that they have the English voices with the Japanese soundtrack, which is cool.

I just hope they stick with this release till the very end, to date there has been no FULL 100% release of DBZ outside of Japan.

superb detail and a decent size, if she was standing up she'd be 12in/30cm tall.
