Akira, Blood: The Last Vampire and Blue Gender were the first anime that I saw. I was tired of the tired cliches in American/British film/television and looking for a new distraction; anime filled the slot nicely.
Just because it's in the thesaurus doesn't mean it's a good idea.

And why isn't 'dethesaurisation' in the dictionary?
