Nintendo was stopping Lik-sang for selling stuff that was used to pirate their products, Sony sued Lik-sang because they were importing/exporting games and hardware to other countries.

There is a big difference.

For example, what if I was a cop and I arrested you because you imported your Chobits CDs from Japan? Even though they are legitimate copies but unavailable in this country.

It's bullshit, that's what it is.
